The cottage (Bettys Dairy) was cute and a great place to stay in a beautiful location for a few nights! Very clean and full of everything you could possibly need. There was even a welcome hamper waiting for us, which was very much appreciated and a lovely touch.
Our bed was comfortable and the cottages were quiet. The kitchen was modern and a good size.
There is a great utility room which is perfect for washing and drying if you have been out for walks etc. Muddy boots could be left there. There are also extras stored in there such as baby equipment, the cushions for the outdoor seating etc.
On that note, the back garden was a lovely little sun trap with views up the country lane.
A very friendly cat came to visit and plonked themself on my knee for a while. Very cute.

Church Stretton has everything you need - pubs, cafes, bakeries, restaurants and a large well-stocked Coop supermarket. The Kings Head was particularly cosy after a long walk, with free hot sausage rolls at 5pm. The Jaipur Indian restaurant has tasty good value dishes and you take your own alcohol. The surrounding area is easy to walk to from the town and the views are spectacular. Everything is in walking distance.

Lovely town and surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Lovely town and surrounding countryside is beautiful. Bucks Head Hotel is next to the church which has a clock that chimes all night. So one of our party who had a room on the church side of the Bucks Head had a disturbed nights sleep.
The town has some great pubs locally and a number of excellent cafes in the town.

Church Stretton is dying.
Church Stretton is dying. We have been going every September since 2010 but this year was the worst. It used to be a thriving place bit since lockdown and HF Holidays taking over the Long Mynd Hotel it has gone into terminal decline. The Kings Arms is a nice pub and decent food but that is about it. A great pity for locals and tourists alike.

Lovely town surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Lovely town surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Good access by road or rail.
Great Co-op. Plenty of parking. Free between 6pm and 8am and on a Sunday.
Everyone friendly and helpful.
Good meals at the Kings Arms and the Ragleth Inn in Little Stretton a short drive away. Also visited the Green Dragon where food looked good too. Can sit inside or out.
Can just wander around the town- nice independent shops or visit many different places within a short distance.

Everything was as one would hope for.
Everything was as one would hope for. Food was very good except for us portions were to generous.
All the staff were very helpful and very friendly.
The breakfasts were very good, with a good selection.
Again dinner was too generous with quantity of food.
Quality of food of both Breakfast and dinner was very good. The security of getting into your room, in that the door leading to the upstairs had a combination lock.
Also you obviously needed your room key to access your room. Generous car parking for all using the Yew Tree.
The area was great for walking with many hills and footpaths.
The only downside was there could have been moor hooks on the back of doors within the room and bath room door.

Well decorated and furnished first floor flat, all rooms had plenty of space and comfortable furniture. Bathroom and kitchen well equipped. Very clean. Very quiet location away from roads but close to all amenities in centre of town and 15 minutes walk from the station. 5 minutes from a good supermarket. Nice touch leaving milk and tea bags for arrival. Easy to operate key box. Owners communicated well with good information including a video of how to access.
Our host, Suzanne, was a delightful lady. Friendly, very hospitable and accommodating. Our ground floor flat was beautifully presented, clean, spacious and comfortable. Every possible option for our continental breakfast was provided. Having access to a kitchenette proved convenient for making tea, coffee etc. On-site parking right outside the front door. Easy, short walk to supermarket and pubs for dinner. Suzanne was a pleasure to meet. Highly recommended.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was comfortable and spacious for a family of four. The hosts are lovely people and we on hand to deal with any queries promptly. It is newly renovated and you can tell that they have thought about all the little details to make it a comfortable stay. The surroundings are very quiet and you can go straight out the door onto footpaths and bridleways to access fabulous walking. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Church Stretton is a wonderful location - lovely walks in the rolling Shropshire Hills, interesting little shops, cafes and restaurants in the village. This property is a minute's walk from the railway station which was perfect for us. On a rainy day we caught a train to Ludlow - just 15 minutes away - and enjoyed wandering around the beautiful old town, interesting shops and market and castle.
The location of Old Hall Barns 3 was good for us. We wanted to find somewhere in the Church Stretton area where we could walk to a pub for an evening meal. It was nice to have the option of the hot tub, although it was very little used as we were just staying for a weekend. Parking right outside the house was easy, as was key collection on arrival.
Located in the heart of Church Stretton, the Bucks Head Hotel manages to pack a lot of rural charm into a relatively small building. The new owners of the hotel have taken great strides to improve it since they took over management from the previous proprietor. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking to explore the Shropshire area.
The location was excellent. We walked out of the front door and there was a path to the hills and another to the town. The shops were five minutes away. There were plenty of good places in Church Stretton to get coffee and even cooked breakfasts. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.
Great location with easy access to the Shropshire hills and only a mile from Church Stretton, the Stables has everything you could want for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay, so if you haven't previously visited this part of Shropshire, give it a go you won't be disappointed.
Comfortable modern room
Good breakfast
We arrived on Sunday evening so no food but we were directed to the Indian restaurant Jaipur in the centre of Church Stretton which we would highly recommend
The walk the following day was well worth doing along the Carding Mill Valley
Beautiful and peaceful part of Church Stretton, great for both the town and getting out onto the hills. Very welcoming hosts, full of lovely touches from the homemade marmelade to the thoughtful range of toiletries. Felt like a home away from home.
The easy access and the welcome via text, The cleanliness of the house and its location in the centre of Church Stretton.
The flapjacks and a bottle of milk in the fridge were a nice touch.
The secure garden at the back was great for our dog.
The room had everything you would expect, toiletries, towels, well stocked tea and coffee. The beds were very comfy, had we had a comfortable night's sleep.
Food in the pub was excellent.
Church Stretton is a wonderful location.
Clean and comfortable. On-site parking. Dog friendly. Warm. Thoughtful touches such as tea and coffee, including Nespresso pods,, with some homemade flapjack cakes. Warm welcome. Would happily return if in the area. Thank you.
Room s were very pleasant, nicely old-fashioned. View to garden and church lovely. Breakfast well-cooked. Church Stretton is great for a stop-over or short holiday, particularly for walkers
Wonderfully situated with off street parking. Very nice and warm, lovely cake on arrival and milk and beer.
Good recycling facilities, and quiet yet near to amenities of Church Stretton
Great location, walking distance to access Church Stretton with all its facilities and Long Mynd and other local beauty spots. Plenty of parking, friendly host and hot tub was a bonus.
