Staff in all areas were excellent, they went the extra mile to ensure you had a good stay. Room was large, spacious and well decorated. Food was well prepared and served on time with a smile. The pool and aqua sauna were a pleasure to use.
In gardens and woodland, the Hare & Hounds is a charming, traditional English country house hotel, with a popular restaurant and bar. The Westonbirt National Arboretum is half a mile away.

There was at least 2 pubs in walking distance to eat and the potting shed served excellent food. Plenty of field walks to explore. Supermarket was just 10 mins drive with other ones only a little further. Was a perfect base for discovering the Cotswolds.

Crudwell is a pretty village in the cotswolds, it is quite small with not a lot there other than a few pubs/hotels and a post office.
Not far up the road is Malmesbury, a bigger town and there are some supermarkets only a few minutes up the road.
It's well placed as a base to explore the Cotswolds

Crudwell is good for public footpaths, bridleways and country lanes. We enjoyed a simple meal at the Tavern Inn at Kemble. We preferred the Eastern Section of the Cotswold Water Park to the Western Section, especially along the Thames from Lechlade to Buscot. Buscot is a beautiful spot, with a river lock, and the National Trust car park at Buscot Weir is popular with families for swimming in the shallow water. On our next visit to the area we might stay in Buscot and explore the Thames path in the direction of Oxford.

I had a problem with my shower, and I had to wait for a table at breakfast, but I would still recommend the Hotel, as I think the staff were good, the breakfast lovely, a good location and a very good night's sleep, after a wedding !

I loved everything about my stay, from the homely touches in my room to the wonderful lake view from my bedroom window. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming which was just what I needed after a long drive. The gardens are very well tended and I enjoyed walking around the flowers feeling inspired to add them to my own small garden at home. Early mornings were a delight due to the forever changing wildlife in and around the lake.
Great hotel, fabulous food especially breakfast. Loved seeing my local Cornish cider Orchard on draught. Staff were great and bed very comfy. The only downside is we were on the roadside & my wife insists on sleeping with the windows wide open as she is claustrophobic and the traffic noise meant neither of us got much sleep. However we were a fairly late booking so next time we are up this way we will make sure we book early to get a quieter room. Overall we rate this hotel highly and its great value for money.
The hotel was very close to the venue we were at for a dog show. The car park was at the back of the property so our vehicle & dogs were safe. The hotel is dog friendly & welcomes well behaved dogs with open arms. The food was excellent. The staff are very friendly, helpful & welcoming.
There is a public footpath opposite the hotel. Ideal for walking the dogs.
We met villagers & they were friendly & interested in our dogs.
All in all an excellent weekend away. Thank you.
The communication and welcome from Chuck was friendly. Fresh eggs, bread, milk etc. left for us on arrival was appreciated. Cottage was clean, cosy and laid out perfectly, even the table set. We had use of bikes. Grounds are exceptional and helped us to enjoy a relaxing stay! Had privacy but near enough to main house, should we have needed anything. Lovely to be near fields, which we enjoyed walking around to get to Crudwell.
Definitely want to stay again !
Friendly staff in hotel, bar and dining room. Nico, the bartender was most hospitable and entertaining. The chef took great care to ensure that my (serious) food allergy was respected.
the property is a delight, the hosts were lovely. We had fresh eggs and marmalade on arrival. The location was great for seeing sights, walks in the Cotswolds. Can't fault it. lovely.
Beautiful property set in lovely gardens.
Chuck (the owner) was really helpful and made us very welcome.
Great location for visiting Crudwell (a nice walk across the fields).
Very kind and helpful staff, the room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. As for breakfast I would say this was possibly the best hotel breakfast I've ever had.
host is very caring and prompt acion about my enquiries, the cottage has a king side bed large enough for us to sleep. Crudwell is good exploration in cotswolds
Breakfast very good and plentiful. Tasty dinners on offer. Wonderful staff. Nice garden, plenty of parking, hotel easy to find. Comfortable lounge area.
