It was obvious the hotel was undergoing refurbishment but there was no noise or dirt from this. The reception, bar and restaurant areas were completed and were very well refurbished with lovely furnishings. The staff were all very polite and friendly.
The bedroom was still awaiting refurbishment but despite this was clean and was sufficient for our needs as a base to sleep.
The breakfast had plenty of choice and was very enjoyable. The meals available on an evening were enjoyable and reasonably priced, though there weren't many options available at the moment.

I took my husband here for his 50th birthday- we had a suite which was brilliant in size and comfort. The restaurant was brilliant for dinner and breakfast and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend!
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Hand and Spear offers accommodation in Weybridge, located next to the train station. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant.
I was visiting my parents, so not as a tourist.
There are lovely walks nearby and the roads are popular with cyclists.
The local shops (those at walking distance from the hotel) are friendly
You can get a good Indian meal at Yasmin.
The Italian Cafe/Deli (Annare?) is good, with some tempting treats. It's very popular and rightly so.
There are buses to Guildford. It's quite a distance to the railway station, and don't expect a lot of taxis.
The Duke of Wellington pub does good meals and drinks and has lots of outdoor seating.

My room was taty and not very clean.
My room was taty and not very clean. Bathroom came with a broken sink and after I flushed the toilet had to wait 3 minutes for the water from the tap. The carpet on the corridor was held together with gaffer tape. The whole place had a very dated feel. Not worth the money.

I was only here for two nights as I was there to watch a local Showcase that was held in a little theatre called the Nomad Theatre. What an excellent way to spend a few hours. Lovely area, lovely theatre.

East Horsley is a convenient place to stay with many places to visit in the surrounding areas.
The Surrey Hills are very picturesque. Guildford is close by and I would recommend taking the park and ride which is en-route from the hotel. RHS Wisley is stunning and I would also recommend a visit to Pyrford Lock and Dorking.
Staff were very helpful, especially Romanian lady on reception, who gave us fan and extra towels. Breakfast was good. Our room was fine although I heard another guest moan about the state of theirs, which the receptionist arranged to move them. This hotel has great potential to be better than it is. Lovely gardens .
The restaurant staff were truly remarkable, we were looked after by a truly outstanding member of staff called Madalin who did this hotel very proud. He was Charming, knowledgable and helpful. The food was delicious and served quickly. Beautiful garden and a lovely atmosphere.
Not impressed about the room, tea bags but no kettle. The shower head was broken and made a mess in the bathroom.
Restaurant closed early, so no food available apart from peanuts.
The receptionist was really rude, couldn’t help us to direct us from Gomshall to the hotel.
Breakfast was beautiful, was lovely sitting in the restaurant eating over looking the lovely view. We live 30 mins away from the hotel but went over there with my husband for a break. Will go back again.
The Hotel was in an excellent location for my National Trust properties that I wanted to visit, good size room & comfortable bed, plenty of parking spaces & nice grounds & garden.
The hotel is in a nice location and perfect for our planned trip. The room was a decent size for the three of us (2 adults 1 child).
The food was good, value for money overall.
