The room was comfortable and it looked like the bathroom and possibly the whole room was recently refurbished. The breakfast was excellent and there is a very nice lounge to relax in the evening. There is also a pool, steam room and sauna. A bit small maybe, but a nice little bonus facility nonetheless.
The location is good, about 20 minutes walk from the town centre and with good access to the whole Lake District area.
A good tip here, take the 555 bus from Kendal to Keswick going through Windermere and Ambleside. Fantastic scenery viewed from the top deck and all for the price of a coffee!

Everything was first class and Merryll was an excellent host and communicator. Walk up to Whinfell Beacon as recommended by host was excellent- fantastic views at the beacon was a great reward. We took a picnic to spend more time at the top to soak in the views in the sunshine.
