Restaurant/bar and outdoor area nice, food marginal. Facilities need some attention.
Set amid 38 acres of woodland and gardens, 3 miles away from the historic towns of Hastings and Battle in East Sussex, the hotel is an ideal base to explore 1066 country.

Continental breakfast was delicious, staff were very helpful, polite and professional. Strawberries covered in a dark chocolate were a perfect treat at the end of the evening.
Thank you
This large house is just a 5-minute walk from the seafront, local shops and St Leonards Beach. It offers bright, modern rooms, and has a free on-site car park.

I have visited before. A full cooked breakfast was offered or a continental breakfast. I was disappointed with the breakfast offered this time.
The Lansdowne is centrally located on Hastings' seafront within a 5-minute walk of Hastings Train and Coach Stations. All rooms have en suite facilities, a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

Very close to amenities, twin room was perfect and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was an extra £10.50 but worth it. Staff friendly

Hastings is a gem that i hadn't discovered before even though it is only two hours away from our home by car! it can certainly give Brighton a run for its money!
I hadn't appreciate that it is so big and therefore staying in St Leonards is quite a stretch by foot. We did use a bus though on one occasion which would work well if you had longer to figure it all out.
In the future I would seriously consider staying longer there. The May day events were so well organised too and every pub ( The Smugglers) and restaurant ( the Thai bookshop in George Street, Webbe's sea food restaurant on the sea frornt and Fagins in George Street)we went into we were greeted wholeheartedly-despite it being busy. The food in each was excellent.

I love Hastings. But I don’t appreciate it when the apartment I booked didn’t happen to exist.I had to book another place which was fantastic. The whole experience was stressful and not welcome, it was supposed to be a relaxing break.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many...
Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.

Being a resident of Hastings for most of my life, The town like many others has it's up and downs, The area of St Leonards is peppered with bars and eateries as is the Old town of Hastings.
I can't recommend enough an Italian gem La Bella Vista on the seafront of St Leonards.
The house was amazing, it was a historians dream, we loved looking at all the artifacts and pictures around the house. The breakfast was fab, there was so much choice. We had tea and coffee facilities in the room, and it was nice not to have a TV in the room. The welcome was lovely and the host made us feel at home. We would definitely stay here again if we visits Hastings again. Easy to park right outside the house. Thank you for a wonderful experience, the photos do not do it justice. The hotel should be upgraded to a 3 star hotel
The location of Tower House 1066 was great for the purpose of why we had went, we had an event at the Oval hastings and it was a 15 minute walk from the venue. The town centre is also within walking distance around 15-20 minutes. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful telling us where we could go if we wanted to get food and also helping us with travel tips. The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfortable, each room came with 2 bottles of water and had shower gel / soap as well as towels in each room.
The breakfast was sumptuous and set us up for the day, especially after an early swim on the last day. The location was just right for us, a beautiful view and near the beach with loads of free parking nearby. And near enough to Hastings and Bexhill to walk or bus. Lots to see and do there.
The Hotel is a large house tastefully updated for comfortable rooms. With more work to be done it'll be even nicer next time.
Shops nearby catered for basic needs. Buses run every 20 mins to Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill.
Nice hotel with a lot of small corridors and staircases. The lift was a bit claustrophobic so we preferred the stairs. The rooms were on the small side, but big enough, the bed was comfy and the bathroom area was surprisingly big.
Breakfast was good, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
If we come back to Hastings we will look for this hotel again 😊
Daniela, the young lady on Reception, was absolutely wonderful - extremely helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Always a cheery hello in the morning, helpful suggestions on things to do etc. The hotel was very clean and smelt lovely. Bathroom with standalone shower was a really good size and the bed was comfortable. We also had a great view of the sea.
Delightful staff and a delicious breakfast. The hotel was full of character and very well maintained. This part of Hastings never ceases to delight and offer so much to explore. Will definitely go again.
I also had my nails polished in the beauty salon and that was great too. A normal polish lasted nearly a week!
The Eagle is a well organized and functional hotel which comes with spacious rooms, a bar, plenty of parking and a decent breakfast. It's location is a short walk from the sea and a convenient base for exploring Hastings and surrounding parts of the Sussex coastline.
Wonderful breakfast, the 20% discount for hotel guests is a really nice touch. Very good service, lovely bathroom and clean and pretty room. Easily accessible to restaurants and attractions in the town and directly facing the beach.
Even though Hastings had no water, the hotel was spotless, and the staff were very accommodating. It didn't affect our stay at all and we loved it! Room 11 is now my home away from home. Very safe, and peaceful. Thanks 😊
The location was great for us. The room was decorated simply but with an upscale vibe. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Nice restaurant. This hotel was excellent and the price was amazing!
Vincent was so hospitable! His breakfasts were delicious and our room was perfect! He was very helpful in helping to plan our days and dinner recommendations. Would highly recommend this great B&B!!
What a nice change from tiny hotel rooms. We were able to spread out. Our unit was in a quiet shady section. All amenities (except towels) are provided. Good communication from staff.
This sweet little place is in the perfect location in Hastings-- on the elegant High Street, steps from all of the cafes and antique shops of George Street, in the heart of Old Town.
Lovely stay in Hastings. Good hotel for family stay. Nice breakfast area with lounge area, kids enjoyed sitting after they’d eaten breakfast, whilst adults chatted and finished.
Great location and very good value for such a lovely sized room. The hotel is a little shabby in places but staff are lovely and reflected in the price of the hotel rooms.
Nice room, nice view of the sea. Perfect location for the white rock theatre which is why we booked but also good for Hastings sea front and town center.
