Highworth is a lovely small market town with lots of interesting history. It has a very useful visitor centre with a small museum. The surrounding area is beautiful with a lot of ancient historical monuments and sites within easy reach. The cotswolds are on the doorstep and it is an easy trip to Bath.

Loved the location and fantastic food.
Loved the location and fantastic food. Room quite tired and could do with comfier beds. Great value for money. Met some friendly locals full of knowledge of the town's history including the tunnels that go under the town from every pub to the church. There's even an original door to it in the cellar bar a few doors down from the Saracen. We are vegetarians but even I was tempted with the food on offer in andd outside the local butchers and the Saturday market was a pleasure to walk round.
As a lone traveller i appreciated the kind and attentive service of the staff, both in the restaurant and room servicing. I felt really welcomed.
It was great that the hotel is right in the centre of the town .
Good size to the room, quaint old pub/hotel; staff very friendly bed was of adequate size; bed linen, towels and bathroom all clean and to a good standard. Breakfast was generous and good value for money.
Lovely village hotel opposite a market square where there are some stalls . At around midnight it was lovely and quiet no traffic , sirens or helicopters . Great location for a quick rest .
