Royal Oak, hotel in Lorton

Situated in Keswick, 6.9 km from Derwentwater, Royal Oak features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Very well located in the village surrounded by the beautiful Lake District hills. The staff made us very welcome. The evening meal was nice, traditional, pub food. The pub did not do breakfast, preferring instead to spread visitor business around the village and we were directed to either the cafe or community shop. This arrangement worked very well for us and we had excellent bacon sandwiches at the cafe.

Lorton valley isn’t that well known so not over populated by tourists. Retains authenticity of the region with great local places to eat and an abundance of outdoor experiences which cost nothing but give huge rewards in terms of achievement and mindfulness
