Beautiful interior of cottage. Comfy and delightful to stay in. We had excellent weather, but had it been bad, there was loads of interesting looking reading material to browse.
Alex was friendly and made us feel welcome.
That bath is quite special!
We loved the location, up the chapel path.

The most perfect location for walking, cycling, paddleboarding. The rooms in main house overlooking estuary are the best and furnished with care.

Brigands Inn was terrific, with the exception of wifi problems. This is something really unfixable due to very thick walls etc. The owners tried very hard to fix this. We had a repeater in our room but still no joy!
Apart from that; very friendly staff. Service great. Food delicious. Drinks also excellent. Room large and plenty of room for cases and storage (under bed sliding cases! Great). Shower over bath but bathroom good. Loo seat a problem for gents. Keeps falling!
Generally we’d stay again in a flash!
East to get around to see the spectacular area. Precipice walk a must. Trips to Barmouth, Harlech castle, Portmerion, Ffestiniog Railway (about 50 mins drive) and possible to do Conwy but quite a drive. Lots to do and see or just chill out! Also visited Bodnath gardens south of Conwy. Beautiful.

Kevin, the host, was very attentive, and looked after our every need, answering emails within 10 minutes. The rooms were very clean, and the bed linens were extremely comfortable.
I can highly recommend the restaurant menu. The food is exceptional, and the breakfast is to die for. The staff are very, very good and nothing is too much for them.
Overall we were very impressed with the hotel and will most definitely return there.

Very well located to explore Snowdonia.
Very well located to explore Snowdonia. We used to bring our kids here 40 years ago and drag them up Snowdon. This was a nostalgic re-visit following our Golden Wedding Anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Firecat and the surrounding area.
Chaotic. Owner does not know how to run a hotel. Panicked when she thought I had left without paying although the payment was guaranteed by card and complained to Booking.com who blocked the card and caused problems with all our other bookings made. Although once a nice hotel- modern facilities were not available. TV stopped halfway through a programme and the TV had several old digi boxes attached to it. Bad wifi and telephone signsls.
Don't think this is an international hotel and judge it accordingly. It's a rural inn in a beautiful but remote location surrounded by hills and fields. You will walk into a warm welcome, physical and emotional. The room we had was old-fashioned, rather rustic, characterful, definitely not marble and stainless steel but perfectly comfortable, rather like stepping back in time. the staff were great and the meals were wonderful.
The hosts, Robin & Jane were extremely helpful from the 'very late time we turned up'. It was no big deal that we turned up so late.
The hotel was very welcoming & homely. Our room was perfect & clean, very comfortable.
The food was excellent, very tasty & well presented.
Robin & Jane couldn't do enough to make our stay relaxing.
Highly recommended, we will be back.
Thank you
Regards
George & Mari.
Stunning hotel, food is delicious, great open fire, great beer, great staff.
I had an incorrect booking changed and given a room much more than I paid for. My fault but they bent over backwards to help
Everything! We stayed in 3 different hotels during our holiday. This one was the best! Clean beautiful and with character! Excellent staff & delicious food 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfect location for a trip up Cadair Idris the next day. Hotel staff really friendly. Great food and a seriously good price with full breakfast included
