Hosts were absolutely brilliant. Breakfast cooked and served to perfection, with many choices. We were for few days and get caught in rain, so spent afternoon in, so many books, we watched TV. Hosts even heated up in microwave my favourite pudding. Nothing was too much to ask. Shower is really good with perfect power. Bed is comfortable. Window can be opened. Nicely decorated and clean, quiet and beautiful place to stay.

The place has been beutifully refurbished and is homely and very comfortable. The food was great and excellend value and the breakfast choices good and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and everything I wanted was available. My room (no 7) was very tiny but for me it was good, nice and quiet and a brilliantly comfotable bed and good shower. I loved it all

Middleton in Teesdale is a great place to visit.
Middleton in Teesdale is a great place to visit. It’s olde worldy & so laid back & relaxed. There are so many places to go see in every direction. Hadrian’s wall & Roman forts etc to the north, Durham city & cathedral to East. Barnhard castle & Yorkshire dales to south & Brough & Kirkby Stephen to West. Also the scenery around Middleton is stunning. Definitely one of the best areas of the country to visit & very little traffic.

Definitely worth a short stay in this lovely village - only...
Definitely worth a short stay in this lovely village - only a few miles from the more well-known and much busier Barnard Castle (which is also very interesting and a must visit for history buffs). The Teesdale pub has excellent food, and there are other options in the village for evening meals or take-aways.
Nearby is the spectacular High Force - a waterfall with interesting geology. A short, easy-to-moderate walk, with £2.50 entrance fee, but worth it!

Parking was at a premium, although no charges.
Parking was at a premium, although no charges. It was easy to get public transport into Barnard Castle, which is a vibrant place. High Force waterfall is nearby, on a lovely walk, also Pennine Way for walkers. The Forresters Bar/hotel allowed us to bring in fish and chips, when they were fully booked for evening meals. There were 3 coffee shops/cafes, only experienced The Teespot, very nice, soup and cheese scone.

Plenty of eating options from hotels, restaurant and coffee shops. Lovely trip to High Force waterfall and we walked down the river bank to Low Force, most enjoyable and helped by gorgeous weather. A good location to stay if wanting to visit nearby Bowes and Barnard Castle.

After a long day driving through the beautiful countryside to the north, it was a pleasure to fall upon the teesdale hotel. The reception received was friendly and the village is a delight to walk around. We ate in the Restaurant that night and I can safely say that it was up there in the category of best food that we have eaten in a long while and at a very affordable price. The chef and his staff are obviously of a very high calibre
Cottage is lovely, very clean and has everything you need in the way of utensils, cleaning products, extra blankets, white goods. Beds were comfy and there was a tv and WiFi. Situated in the centre of the village and easy to get to everything that Middleton in Teesdale has to offer. Good amount of parking available. Host left eggs and milk which was a lovely touch.
This was a little gem of a B&B, bang in the centre of Middleton in Teesdale, so the location was perfect. You can park right outside which was very handy as we had a fair bit of luggage. Room was great, bed very comfy and the breakfast was 10 out of 10. We received such a lovely warm welcome and were thoroughly spoilt for the two nights of our stay!
The property was located out in the countryside although a stones throw away from Middleton in teesdale. Lovely view in the back with added Walking into woods and past a quarry from the back side. Excellent location for travelling upto low force and high Force waterfalls. Excellent staff Great breakfast set us up for a good day of walking
It was great. Fairly basic hotel, but that was all we wanted for a quick stopover. Great bar and the food was really good. The breakfast was fantastic and used produce from the butcher across the road (apparently). It was very nice anyway. Staff were really nice and friendly.
Good, secure car park behind for motorcycles
The location was perfect. Set in the high street with parking on the front and beside a pub and with a hotel opposite. The house was very quaint and comfortable with beautiful and personal decor. Food was amazing. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Clare and her Mum made us feel so at home. Lovely people and location.
Great view from this house over its colourful shrubs, up above the village, which is just a few minutes' drive away. Walks from the door. Very friendly and informative hosts. Superb breakfasts! Comfy room, huge bed, excellent shower & big fluffy towels. Very good meal at the Rose & Crown in nearby Romaldkirk.
Good hotel in the middle of the village. As advertised - basic room, perfectly adequate for a single person on a cycling holiday. [some rooms might be refurbished]. Restaurant with an interesting menu, far better than the usual 'pub grub'; staff pleasant and helpful. Recommend.
Very very helpful & friendly staff. Franck organised taxi for us in advance to get to High Force. We needed gluten free meal & they were excellent at explaining the options. Incredibly dog friendly!
Lovely clean, well equipped B&B in a perfect central location in Middleton in Teesdale. Sue was a lovely host and cooked an amazing breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate in returning.
Nice Hotel/Restaurant in lovely old style with an excellent kitchen, Staff is helpful and friendly, we felt like at home. There is a large carpark in the back.
