We have stayed here before and it's perfect. The room we had was at the top of the building and had a view over to the water which was lovely! Staff were all very friendly and the room was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed there as our son and partner where attending a wedding in Montrose we used it as a base , 20 mins from Arbroath lovely Cushing town selling the famous smokie everywhere, history in the lighthouse signal museum was good. We then travelled to Broughty Ferry, lovely promenade to walk all along, little boutique shops, castle, plenty restaurants and fish and chip shop
Well kept garden, on site parking but room on road as well. Booked single but was offered double room for no extra charge. Excellent fruit salad for breakfast. Fridge in room and microwave and plates available in sitting room area which had two VERY comfortable reclining chairs looking out the large bay window onto beautiful front garden. Was a good (and cheaper) alternative to my first choice Park Hotel which was fully booked for my dates. Would probably choose Limes first next time.
The Limes Guest house was in a convenient location - under 10 mins walking from Montrose train station. I was greeted by a lovely owner, Jen who was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and helped to ensure I had an enjoyable stay throughout my time in town. Having stayed at the chain hotel a few nights before and breakfast being pretty average - I was genuinely surprised with the amazing breakfast standard Jen has offered - make sure you'll order yours, will not regret it!
Kristy (I believe that was our hostess’s name) was absolutely lovely and so gracious. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed so comfortable. breakfast was cooked to order and so reasonable. the property itself is so beautiful, and very homey — not like a museum. The gardens outside are so pretty and there’s a little reading/relaxing sunroom in it, for guests. Montrose is a “real” town, not a tourist town, but it is close to much to do!
The hotel overall was actually a really experience considering I was on a budget and staying with my mate in a twin room. The staff were also really welcoming and helpful. I would say for the extra £20 or so, it is worth getting a deluxe room. Of course, this isn't a 5 star hotel, so it wasn't mind-blowing, but it was very good for the price. Also, the location is good as the high street is a 30-second walk away with shops and takeaways.
The hotel room was freezing cold. The wall heater did not work and I was provided with a fan heater. It was so cold in the room that I ended up sleeping in a jumper and hat
I assumed that it was just my room. However, I spoke to another guest that had the same problem
The heating was confusing. Control panel on the wall didn’t work and the bathroom had a radiator that didn’t work.
Breakfast was pre ordered the day before but it was still freshly cooked, the big breakfast is a BIG breakfast, lovely relaxed breakfast room, two minutes stroll to a lovely beach, we ate at local restaurant as restaurant in hotel not open, very cosy, spotless accommodation with character
The breakfast was excellent. If you stay at the hotel then you get a discount off the green fees at Montrose Links course. The hotel owner made us aware of this during our stay. Our room was nice, but there are rooms that overlook the golf course too.
Great location, very close to town centre, fast WiFi
Very clean rooms and communal spaces.
Very friendly staff and great hospitality. (Thank you both Adam and Elaine)
If I visit Montrose again, I will not go anywhere else for short or long stay.
Montrose is generally an expensive area for accommodation, so the Park Hotel is relatively competitive for the area.
Comfortable well sized clean accommodation and a really good breakfast.
Staff are always polite, courteous and helpful.
It was immaculately clean and tidy. A quiet location, parking was right outside, had its own private outside space and it was very well presented throughout. Good location for exploring Montrose, it had everything we needed for our stay.
Great location near the centre of Montrose so it was easy to get to restaurants, shops, etc. Parking was readily available and free.
The flat is very spacious with all the amenities we required.
This property is a little gem in the centre of Montrose. It was spacious and comfortable and had all the amenities for a self-catering cottage. Would definitely consider a return visit.
Fabulous hotel, lovely to have a bed and bowls for my four-legged companion.
The restaurant was excellent and the portion sizes were amazing.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Liked the hotel was close to center of town. Breakfast not up to our expectations. However, dinner was excellent. Our waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful.
Welcoming, friendly, accommodating and generous. Very comfortable room, and excellent breakfast. Would go to montrose just for a stay at the hermitage.
