The host was so warm and welcoming on arrival, gave us some excellent suggestions for places to eat out and visit. The room was like a home from home, had everything we needed for a 4 night stay, there was a smart TV, kettle, variety of teas/coffee/biscuits/crisps/milk/bottled water replenished daily, a decent sized fridge, fresh towels daily, an iron and ironing board, hair dryer etc. The room was nicely presented, tasteful decor with comfortable furnishings and a beautiful view. The bathroom was spotless, had a walk in shower with 2 different shower heads and heated towel rail. The location was excellent, a good base for sightseeing, we went to Alnwick, Bamburgh, Amble, Seahouses etc nothing seemed too far away.

Gorgeous getaway hut. The host was so thoughtful with drinks, snacks and games provided. Bed was very comfy and facilities great. I stayed with my 2 children (aged 14 and 11) and they enjoyed it too - we'll be back! Great communication from the host.

Pretty village several good pubs and a really good Micropub. the amazing Cragside House only a mile and a half outside the village. N.T. over 40 miles of walks on the estate and 6 mile carriage walk which you can drive round. Queens Head served a good meal on Saturday night. Closed for meals after 6 p.m. on Sunday. Rothbury is only about 12 miles from Alnwick, an attractive market town with a castle used in Harry Potter films.

Small town with lots of quirky shops, three pubs, a wine bar and good cafe and bakeries.
Lots of interesting things to see and do mainly connected with Lord Armstrong who was an engineer and armament supplier in the Great War. The town has erected the Armstrong cross on the green in front of the church and pub in his honour
A visit to Cragside is a must!!!

Difficult to give a review as my paternal family come from Rothbury, however, its a great place to stay for a short break or to use as a centre for touring whether by bike, car or other mode of transport. Some great walks around the area and of course Cragside is a must visit place
The Haven is a beautiful property based in perfect vicinity to the coast and to do the Northumberland 250 route. The host was friendly, polite and extremely accommodating, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable (the bedsheets were EXQUISITLY soft) and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We arrived on motorcycles and although the parking is on bit of a hill, it's safe and private which put our minds at ease. I couldn't rate the BnB higher and would definitely look to go back when we are next in the area.
The lodge was spacious, clean and modern. A bonus for our grandchildren was a TV in the twin bedroom just for them! The view from the decking was quite pretty, overlooking the opposite hill and a forest (we were positioned at the top of the hill). The host was very friendly and helpful and quickly answered any queries I had via email. The site was clean and tidy. It was quite close to the centre of Rothbury, being a short walk away. Rothbury was very pretty with plenty of places to eat.
A lovely, clean, bright, warm, comfortable property, in a good location. Friendly host . The most comfortable bed I think
we have ever slept in! All the facilities seemed brand new and of a good standard . We had privacy and yet, convenience of a short drive or walk into Rothbury which is absolutely delightful , as is the surrounding area . We extended our stay a further night as we didn’t want to come back ! Would definitely stay again.
Great location for exploring the area. Rothbury is a lovely place, we were only there for the night so didn’t get chance to explore as much as we wanted to.
The property is a local pub, friendly and welcoming. Everyone we met was friendly with a ready smile.
My friend and I stayed in a bunk room, had our own toilet and shower room. Exactly what we wanted for the night.
It’s a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for.
Horrible transportation to get there. We had to go away to get a bus there.
The room was ok but it smelled.
The breakfast wasn’t too great but I believe the waitress also the cook.
Carpets and the bathroom could use a bit more cleaning.
Overall NOT a bad experience for the price.
Lou and Shaun were incredible hosts and the place was incredibly surprising - a wonderful Northumberland farm experience and the biggest B&B room we have stayed in. There is so much history to the place and a visit to Cragside is a must do to complement the Cragend farm experience. Can not rate this place or the hosts highly enough.
Great location for exploring. The cottage itself was very spacious and modern with everything you could need, including an equipment store. It was very clean, and the beds were super comfy. You could walk to Rothbury via the public footpath through the golf course next door, which was about 20 minutes. We'd definitely stay again.
Very enjoyable tasty breakfast attentive staff, the room we had our breakfast was decorated lovely it really matched the period of the building. The hotel was decorated very well I should imagine its not easy with older property.
We would stay again we wanted a base to visit Craggside and we were not dissapointed
We had a comfortable room and a good night’s sleep. A good full breakfast in the morning. The hotel has a good deal of character, is nicely situated just outside the centre of the village and provided secure indoor storage for our bikes.
Location is fantastic - 5-10 minute walk from Rothbury (a lovely little town) and a childrens playground.
Downstairs area is lovely and spacious, kitchen is really well equipped and bedrooms are pretty well proportioned.
Cycled to the hotel, Lovely room twin beds but beds were a little on the narrow side, meals were great, safe cycle storage, the room was a very good size as was the bathroom, good location in the center of Rothbury,
This site of mainly privately owned homes is fairly small but absolutely immaculate, I have never seen a better maintained site.
Rothbury is a very attractive large village/small town with good facilities.
The location was close to central Rothbury so pubs and restaurants were within walking distance. The decor was immaculate and spotless. Northumberland was as beautiful as ever and this was an excellent base.
The location is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and efficient and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel has a quaint charm. The vegetarian food was very nice. It is also dog friendly.
beautiful, historical hotel with immaculate hostel rooms. downstairs pub and dining area, plus upstairs tv room/seating area for guests. just a gorgeous building !
