It was clean and comfortable, conveniently located a few steps from the high street and just a stones throw to the bus station.
There were kitchen appliances in the shared kitchen and a mini fridge in the room so we could easily make a quick breakfast.

If you are interested in the history of the village, pop into the Red Lion where they sometimes have great live music and old photos of Parkgate in the back room. If you're lucky the owner will give you a potted history of the village that he clearly loves.

The property was well maintained, rooms were spacious - we had a four-poster bed. Bathroom very nice, good shower.
Parkgate is a seaside venue without the sea (due to silting) but maintains the seaside atmosphere. Clearly popular with locals. Two ice cream shops, pubs and the inn.
Lovely place to walk along the foreshore and watch the birds.

We have family on the Wirral and wanted somewhere to stay so we could spend some quality time with them. Parkgate was just perfect. It is such an interesting place, full of history, but so convenient to reach other parts of Cheshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Flintshire. It is a very busy little town by day, but also quite relaxing to watch the birds over the river Dee marches. Great for Fish and Chips, Ice Cream, good restaurants and interesting walks.

Parkgate, and the Wirral in general is a hidden gem, clearly known to the locals but not on the typical tourists trail. It should be. Lots to see including the amazing Sunlight Village, walking tracks and beautiful scenery. Only a short drive from Chester, Llangollen, Liverpool with its docks and lively Manchester. Fly into Manchester airport, instead of crowded Heathrow and it is all on your doorstep.
Great place to stay on a recent visit to Royal Liverpool Golf. The location is lovely,.Parkgate being an Historic Conservation area. Our room was well decorated , quiet and spotlessly clean .All the Staff were very friendly and efficient . Nothing was too much trouble. We booked bed & breakfast but ate at the pub every night and the food was very good. The heated terrace is a great extra feature overlooking the marsh area and towards Wales.. I Would highly recommend this hotel..
The Rambler's rest was a luxuriously refurbished old fisherman's cottage. The cottage had every amenity needed for an easy stay, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, TV, etc. It was a home from home. The location was very good on the Wirral and close to Chester. We choose to eat at nearby restaurants, lots of options nearby - all walking distance and we even walked our dog on the parkgate front. It was a great escape and we would definitely stay again.
Great cottage, in a perfect location for visiting the Wirral while enjoying the seaside atmosphere of Parkgate. Checkin was super easy and the accommodation was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Bottle of Rose on arrival was much appreciated :) We brought our 10yr old Collie and she loved the big public fields just up the road and walking along the Wirral Way which is a great nature trail along an old disused railway line.
Beautiful home, spotlessly clean (understatement of the century!), decor is so clean, fresh and tastefully done and very in keeping with Parkgate. The layout for 5 worked really well. The bathroom is downstairs but didn’t have any impact for us at all. The log burner was amazing… such a treat!
One bed room only perfect for couples, central for all of wirral and North Wales if you want to use your car ( all with in 30-40 mins drive)
Or just stay in Parkgate excellent food to eat in or take away all within walking distance and don't forget the ice-cream.
Loved it
The property is perfectly placed for all the amenities at Parkgate and it was immaculately prepared for our arrival with a bottle of wine too! The owners were lovely and kept us up to date with any check-in info leading up to the stay. We would highly recommend a stay here!
Lovely cottage in the village of Parkgate, second time staying at this property and would stay again. Stones throw from the restaurants, cafes and pubs and waterfront. Great communication from Gary prior to arrival and post. All in all a great little place.
