If you want a beach holiday with rocky walks and scenery thrown in then this is a good place. Easy bus ride away (two an hour) is the Giant’s Causeway. The helpful tourist office in the town hall has timetables and can tell you where the bus stop is as it’s located in an odd place.
Not so much to do in wet weather conditions but good places to eat that had plenty of room.

As long as weather is good there is no better place to be than at Portrush. The beaches the food the pubs all great and the people always make you welcome.
General shopping would be limited however, but in reality when you go to portrush your not really wanting to shop.

I scheduled in Portrush because of a visit to Giants Causeway. I was pleasantly surprised with the city. It is a very clean upscale beach town. My only regret is not realizing The Harbour bar was also a restaurant. We did end up eating in a more trendy "European" restaurant and did not discover Harbour Bar until after dinner. As a traveler from the US, I would have preferred the old friendly feeling to The Harbour Bar and wish it popped up in a search for restaurants on Google.

A familu friendly place and very welcoming.
A familu friendly place and very welcoming. Plenty to do, with the beach, currys amusements and shops and cafes. The Jet centre and the giants causeway was a short drive and portstewart close by. Lovely place.
The Royal Court in Portrush is a lovely hotel in a fabulous location. We were met by a very pleasant and efficient lady named Louise at reception when we arrived. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had all the facilities you needed. The staff were very helpful and Ronnie in the lounge area even organised tea, coffee and delicious desserts for us that evening, as the restaurant had closed when we arrived.
A lovely breakfast the next morning completed our visit. Definitely a place that we would visit again.
Gary was an excellent, accomodating, informative, MOST helpful host (and that latter word should be interpreted In the handsomest way possible)... Portrush is a very walkable town, and Malvern House is located in a central and very convenient and pleasing location. I grew up in this town well over half a century ago, and Gary and the house were a welcoming "reception" for my hopes and memories. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to man and place. I had my 37 year old son with me and his enthusiasm matches mine.
Everything. Absolutely outstanding from the minute you enter the hotel. This is a great asset to portrush. Such a clean fresh feel every were the decor is just amazing. The staff all immaculatelly turned out in their lovely crisp white shirts in their uniforms and very professionally trained at their jobs. We were made welcome from the minute we arrived until we left. The food was delicious as was the cocktails. We will definitely be back for another stay.
Northern Irish hospitality is legendary. Cheryl @128 epitomises such hospitality. We received a warm welcome and without being intrusive, we were treated like familiar friends. I know she said she was going into Portrush anyway, but she gave us a lift in and dropped us off at our restaurant! The accommodation is on a par with boutique hotels. It was comfortable and perfectly equipped. @128 is a gem.
Caroline is amazing! She is the best host you can get. If you are looking to stay with a local family and meet people this is the best place for you. Don't expect to find a hotel room and ready - served breakfast, but expect to like your stay so much that you won't want to explore the area but instead stay indoors with Caroline. We are already thinking how to get back soon!
The apartment is centrally located with plenty of parking in the area. This was our second time staying at this apartment and we could not fault it. So clean and spacious, perfect for a weekend trip away! Check in was easy and Matthew was helpful and accommodating. We will definitely book again and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Portrush 😊
Lovely sea view room ..... warm and cosy on a cold November evening. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Good value for a solo traveller. Excellent location ....... good public transport ....... buses to Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine outside the hotel. Hourly trains from Coleraine to Belfast and Derry/ Londonderry.
Breakfast excellent and staff very attentive. The hotel even delayed breakfast for us until 10.30 on Saturday as we do Parkrun (there were 6 of us) and that was great and much appreciated. The room was large, very clean and bed very comfortable, slept really well. The Port Hotel is situate right in the middle of Main Street, Portrush and you couldnt ask for better.
Great stay at Larkhill House. First off, a King size bed which is rare in Europe all around. Great location - short walk to downtown Portrush. Exceptionally clean and quiet. Lovely host. Great breakfast cooked on a huge red stove! Jenny is a great host. Charming and lovely, funny and great recommendations for good eats.
Staff are always making sure everything is okay for you. The food was excellent highly recommend that if in portrush go for food at Adelphi .Our room was spotless and warm . We will be back early next year , parking car nearby is so handy . Thanks for making us so comfortable and welcome 😊
It is in a very central location in Portrush, which is a very central location to explore the Antrim coast. We were in Room 1, which was very comfortable, and also had a great bay window with chairs to look out at the beach and activity going by. Breakfast was good, and the host was friendly.
We have been traveling in Ireland for 3 weeks now, primarily staying at B&Bs, and the amazing breakfasts were the best we had at any B&B or hotel, bar none. they have an excellent budget, but I would strongly recommend opting for their optional menu for a few extra pounds. Must amazing!
Just love where the royal court hotel is situated, beautiful scenery, lovely stroll down to the beach.
Food is off excellent quality, with a good choice .
Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed.
All the staff are friendly and helpful.
easy to locate, cosy and homely feel, very clean, friendly hosts, lovely decor, very comfy beds, delicious breakfast, good value for money, altogether an excellent place to stay, glad we found it!!! would definitely stay there again if ever back in portrush
Excellent 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment stylishly remodeled and spotlessly clean. Perfect for our stay in the heart of Portrush, close to the Wild Atlantic Way attractions like Giant’s Causeway. Walkable to the iconic Harbor Bar & Bistro.
Great Hotel with fantastic upgraded rooms with nice views of the Royal Portrush Golf Course.
Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Received an upgrade to a Signature Suite which was very generous.
Perfect location, really spacious, best equipped property we’ve ever stayed in, warm and comfortable, and included a private parking space which is a godsend in Portrush!
Lovely choice of cereals , fruit, yougart and juices . And excellent cooked choices as well . Location of hotel was perfect everything that Portrush has to offer .
