It was a fleeting visit for a family funeral but the apartment was really clean and comfortable with parking and in a convenient location. The owners were great - very amenable and suggested several places for dinner. Had we been staying longer I'm sure we would have taken advantage of everything the apartment offered; the kitchenette had everything you required but we ate out due to convenience and the short stay. Was able to park the car in sight of the apartment and it was a short walk into town. Should we need to come back to Redcar, this would definitely be our first choice for accommodation. Thank you 🙂

The Beaches was spotless and perfect for our requirements. The complimentary breakfast stuff was much appreciated.

Redcar is much like any other British sea side town, It is past its heyday but was clean, tidy with a good selection of shops and as we went for a night away from the day to day pressures of life it hit the spot. There is plenty to do depending on what you want, the Frosty penguins crazy golf is well worth a visit as well as the Stray cafe or the beach with a bucket and spade.

I'm biased because I grew up here but having been away for 38 years to return and see how amazing the town has become is brilliant.
The regenerated esplanade is fantastic and the beach as always is clean and golden. The view of the coastline without the steel works whilst strange to me, was actually very nice because as iconic as the works were they were a blot on a much underrated piece of England.
I married a southerner so unfortunately I no longer get to visit as often as I'd like but to be honest I could be tempted into divorce just to move back to Redcar.

Extensive sandy beaches, long promenades, delicious fish & chips shops, great for dogs (but NB, the central part of beach bans dogs in summer until 30th September) Archetypal Victorian English seaside resort-town - but sadly dilapidated in many parts, and needing major investment.
Some of the populace along the coastal strip appear to be in a precarious state - and maybe the closure of the main industries in the region over recent decades are the cause of this. Half-a-mile inland is Corporation Road, running roughly parallel to the promenade, with nice houses, a lovely park ( with a dedicated Dog-Shop) - almost a different world to the seafront buildings.
Teesmouth National Nature Reserve nearby, and the Industrial profile of massive structures, in the distance further up the coast. But wildlife is unconcerned about visual aesthetics of course. Lots of wading birds all along the beaches - sanderlings, turnstones -- etc

The Esplanade is pleasant to walk along, with plenty of seating. There are a few amusement arcades but as a seaside resort it is quite low-key.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants -we particularly like the Lemon Tree Thai restaurant. & Daisy May tea rooms. Lots of fish & chip shops, they seem to be round every corner!

We were lucky with sunny weather so we could wander round the town. Great Brazilian cafe for breakfast and lovely Thai restaurant both on the main street.
Interesting to look round the traditional old boats and their matching painted tractors
Shame the vertical pier was closed at the top but nice historical photos on the walk upwards. Do stop at Pacitto's for the local delicacy of lemon top icecream. 😀
So... turns out Redcar is a bit of a dive... but, the Claxton is a hidden gem! Really nice hotel, spacious rooms, comfy beds, fantastic huge bathroom. The view of a hand car wash was... oh well, can't win 'em all.
The lady who seemed to be head waitress, receptionist and barmaid, was really lovely and friendly. She massively undersold the evening meals, which she shouldn't have done. They were great! The burger was massive and delicious. The chips... the chips are next level amazing. Breakfast was delicious.
The Hotel was exceptionally Clean and the Room i was in was a single on suite with towels
Shampoo / Tea Coffee and the Bed was really comfortable.
No Full English or Private parking but you get 2 hrs free from 0800hrs so no problem in bays outside hotel.
Shower really hot and room nice and cosy warm from the December Cold
Light above bed so no getting out was tucked up.
Really close to Beach and Town.
Excellent Value for a Nights stay and would and will stay again.
5/5 from me thank you.
Euro Car Park over the road (read the sign carefully so that you don't get a parking ticket).
We were met by Claire, she could see that we were a little bit lost. The exterior of the hotel hides a surprise. Claire has made her hotel a unique property by her choices of decor. It looks great and is such a refreshing change.
We were a late booking and had planned to stay nearer Durham, but as Bruce Springstein was playing in Sunderland we had to look further away.
Seaglass Cottage is a really beautiful accommodation with a cosy, beachy feel. The hosts, Helen and Lee have thought of everything that might be needed to ensure a very comfortable stay. We were a group of 4 on a short visit to Redcar visiting family and the cottage was the perfect base for us while we were there. We would love to come back again soon and would highly recommend Seaglass Cottage as a fantastic place to stay 😊
Great reception from Mike and staff the manager had been there three weeks so had inherited what he had , selection of drinks were great and beer kept well and served great , a good selection for breakfast and good food . Marske , Saltburn and Redcar were great , no Uber but red car taxis were great under a tenner to both destinations
A lovely apartment. Very spacious. Fantastic view from the bedroom. Lovely big bathroom. Can open the French doors and there is the sea! It is a great place to base yourself for sightseeing around North Yorkshire, it really is superb. Redcar's beach was beautiful. Only a 10 min walk to the Railway Station. Easy to park.
Hotel is in a fantastic position on the front, large Sea View room with two windows was lovely. Hotel team were really friendly and supportive. Let us leave the car in the hotel checkout day to do a little more of the coastal walk. Breakfast was great and gave us great start to the walking day.
YOU CAN SEE THE INPROVEMENT OFF THIS GUEST HOTEL BY THE WORK AND THE MONEY THEY ARE SPENDING TO BE THE BEST IN REDCAR.AS NORMAL THE BREAKFAST WAS GREAT ORDER WHAT YOU NEED AND IT IS THERE IN MIN HOT AND TASTY.
The hotel is in a fantastic location on the seafront. The room was quite small but it was clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was very friendly and allowed us to check in early, as our room was ready.
A nice apartment. Comfortable, spacious and well equipped for basic catering. Position is ideal for anyone visiting Redcar and / exploring the area. Having free onsite parking was a bonus.
I booked this room for my partner so he could have a night out in Redcar, close to all amenities, said the staff were friendly, plenty of take aways, restaurant's etc
Quiet hotel with very clean rooms, excellent breakfast and the staff could not do enough for us. It was the staff that would make me go back over anything else.
I was in the area for a training course. The room met all expectations and was clean and comfortable. It was excellent value and exactly what I required.
