Lovely quiet room, simple and entirely unfussy decor, spacious clean bathroom; delightful staff on the door and again at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, with a great spread of fruit salads as well as hot food, and the hall where the food is served is spacious, calmly lit, and has windows on all sides with plants and trees visible.

The customer service was fantastic, with all staff being very approachable, friendly and helpful. It was clear that staff worked incredibly hard at the hotel to meet everyone's needs. The hotel was very clean, the food (breakfast and dinner) was good and staff were very helpful regarding our dietary requirements. The room was large, with a super comfortable bed and with an additional bed provided for us.

Salisbury is a very good location for a holiday in the UK.
Salisbury is a very good location for a holiday in the UK. Within the immediate area of the city there is an impressive cathedral (which houses a copy of Magna Carta) and the ruins of Old Sarum. A little further afield, there is the famous Stonehenge World Heritage Site which is very much worth a visit.
The city itself is easy to get around - much of it is walkable and there is a good bus service.
Due to its rail links, Salisbury can also be used as a base for exploring the wider area. Regular trains run to locations throughout Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire.

St Thomas Becketts Church was a wonderful surprise with the late 15thc paintings.
The walking tour of Salisbury with a registered guide was excellent and i would definitely recommend it.
The docents in the cathedral were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. More importantly you could ask any question of them and they would endeavour to answer it.

It is a town full of interest - museums, The Cathedral and close, Montpesson House and many more. It has a wide range of shops, cafes and interesting old buildings, full of history. It is easy to walk round. We especially enjoy Elizabeth Gardens and the water meadows to Harnham.
The centre is so busy, best taken in small doses. The market square is important to see, especially on market day - and a new department store.

Everthing is within walking distance shops, cathedral etc and there are plenty of places to eat. Furthermore, as this is an old medieval town there are lots of pubs ! so plenty of choice of breweries and food ! Its also based on a grid system so very easy to navigate your way around.
We did find that the independant shops, market etc are NOT open on Sundays so if you are coming for shopping make sure you come Monday to Saturday or you will be disappointed !
Our host said when the sun shines Salisbury is the best place to be and with a choice of over 5 rivers you could walk along bathed in sunshine I would agree !

Go to city visitor center, very helpful.
Go to city visitor center, very helpful. Pretty town, every place walkable. Visit Stonehenge in afternoon, lot less people. Old Sarum was hard to get to and not marked well from bus stop. Magna Carta might not be worth the fee to many.
This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Salisbury - only a 10 minute stroll through the centre to get to the cathedral. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Our room was spacious and clean, and although it overlooked the main road, the soundproofing was good and there was little traffic noise. There was no live music while we were there. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Had a lovely day exploring this fascinating medieval city - would recommend the tour up the tower of the cathedral!
This is an old building with narrow stairs to the rooms. I stayed in a single room on the third floor. It was small but comfortable for one night. It overlooks the garden and there is an outside bar. It was quiet but the refrigerating unit was on till past 2300 hours. The real plus point of this hotel is the location; a short walk through the water meadows to the city centre with a great view of the Cathedral on route. Worth staying here for that alone! Good breakfast included.
The hotel had a cooked English which was very good. The room was fine and the location was very close to the center of the city. The hotel was a unique facility with parts dating back to the 1400s and very historic. This is really the best place to stay in Salisbury and truly experience the history of the city and area.
Salisbury is a great place to visit and, if you don't mind a short walk, the annex is perfect. it is near the mill site and bar, which is a picturesque place for a cold one. The kitchenette in the annex was very useful and was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. We will stay there again, if in the area.
Exactly what we needed, 4 friends - with 2 x twin rooms, before the start of our hiking trail. Comfortable, clean and brilliantly located. It is an old hotel, with a great city centre, riverside location, but suited our needs perfectly as we could easily walk to it from Salisbury station.
Across the street from Salisbury Cathedral and had view of it. Inexpensive, nice and helpful people, full breakfasts, hot water, biggest room we have had on our trip. If I were to go again to Salisbury, this is where I would stay. Definitely, request room with a view
We've been staying in this hotel for years as we have a stamp fair twice a year in Salisbury. Obviously since the take over the bedrooms have drastically improved and much more modern now. The parking feels more spacious and the view has always been amazing.
Excellent, recently refitted room which was spacious, fresh and conformable. Good bathroom facilities. Lots of space for clothes too.
Great location and with plenty of parking which is a major plus for a citt centre hotel
And staff welcoming and helpful
Beautiful location in Salisbury. Walking distance to Salisbury Cathedral. Food was above excellent. Hotel supports a pub and restaurant. Staff were above helpful even to helping me find the location over the phone and offered even to help with bags.
Hotel was modern, clean, bright and located in a good position to get on and off the A303 road. Staff were excellent, attentive and polite. The room was of a good enough size for our 1 night stay with ample wardrobe space. Breakfast choice was good.
Amazing!! We love our stay! The room was comfortable and the staff super friendly. Charlie gave us a lot of good recommendations. The hotel is very close to one of the Stonehenge bus stops, supermarkets and the main square of Salisbury.
Steve and Kay were excellent hosts and on arrival Steve explained everything thoroughly and provided very useful local knowledge. Breakfast was superb. Salisbury centre, especially the cathedral are lovely spots to spend some time.
The property was compact, cozy, comfortable and had excellent facilities and had tea, coffee, biscuits and even a bottle of wine to hand. The location is superb for a beautiful walk into Salisbury past the cathedral.
Very nice, cozy and clean hotel that has been operating since XVII century in the centre of Wilton. Walking distance to Wilton House and short driving distance to the city centre of Salisbury and to Stonehenge.
Very well located hotel, nice and central to the city centre. Staff were as usual excellent and courteous. Very comfortable room with all the essentials of a good quality hotel.
Ideal location. 10 minute walk to city centre. Great patio area on the river. Highly recommend the Salisbury Punting which leaves from the hotel (not operated by the hotel)
Great location, just a short walk from the city centre and attractions. The hotel is full of character and really comfortable. the staff were friendly and helpful.
