The Den was so cosy. Woodburner was lovely. Bed was comfy. Lots of nice little touches. Was lovely sitting outside listening to the birds and seeing the ducks on the brook. Felt very relaxing. Nice pub within a few minutes walk.

The dinner was fantastic as was the breakfast. Like having real milk in room for tea. Loved the very large shower in the room.

Stockbridge has a variety of lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs. There is free parking along the length of the village and lovely walks across the water meadows by the river Test. It's a great base for visiting some amazing gardens like Mottisfont, Houghton Lodge and Longstock. Also an easy 20 minute drive into Winchester which is a lovely day out.

The trout streams running at side of pavement are a delight, especially after dark when the trout can be seen swimming around.

A ribbon town over various tributeries of the River Test and the River itself. A lot of shops to facilitiate the very expensive chalk stream trout fishing, and other outdoor activities. Everyone we spoke to were very pleasant. Interesting gardens nearby (Houghton Lodge) and also the Leckworth (John Lewis) estate.

Overall it was satisfactory but it would have been better to have had 2 chairs in the double bedroom, rather than one person having to sit on the bed! Mayfly room above kitchen subject to appreciable noise from the kitchen equipment when being operated. Instructions for using internet unclear.

And when you write a review pointing out to the landlord that the promised breakfast never arrived....does he apologise ? No...does he do or say anything...No.
His food is excellent, but if I'm promised breakfast and he's sleeping off a hangover after a "lock in" with locals, well frankly that's not my problem....I paid for breakfast, you gave me nothing.....facts....
My suggestion to other travellers, Saturday dinner is very very good , don't expect breakfast.
All round brilliant stay here, I was very impressed with the room which was lovely with a comfy bed and a coffee machine ! Fresh real milk in the fridge was a nice touch too.
Breakfast was generous and delicious.we had a meal in the evening in the restaurant which was also excellent. I have travelled the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is honestly in my top 5 hotels for the price was outstanding.
It was my first time at this property, and I will be back.
The first thing is the service that the Greyhound on the Test Hotel provides - It was a great experience from check-in to check-out, and everything in between.
The food was great (evening meal and breakfast were both lovely), and they also had a good selection of local real ales.
Very nice bedroom and ensuite, and very clean.
I definitely recommend.
The hotel is beautiful and clean and although on a busy road it's very quiet. The room was very comfortable and the decor rustic and lovely. Very comfortable. The bathroom is super spacious and perfect for folks with mobility issues like me. Breakfast was delicious, too! It's dog friendly throughout, which was wonderful! Thank you
A lovely old pub/hotel. Really nice, tastefully decorated room. Extensive menu of excellent food. Extensive menus are rare in my experience. Fantastic veggie breakfast. Beautiful old village full of thatched cottages. Good parking. Good value. Near to quiet walks. River Test 300 yards away. Very peaceful. I shall return.
the Grosvenor was an absolute delight, in the heart of Stockbridge. Breakfast was exceptional and the garden room in which we stayed was superb. Would definitely stay here again. The garden and outside barbecue and seating areas looked so welcoming and the indoor bar had a very convivial atmosphere.
wow this hotel was amazing! i ended up checking in really late (after a wedding) and they were super accommodating- plus the bed was extremely comfortable, it was quiet, and the breakfast was also amazing. the chef was really really good! i would highly recommend this place!
My wife happened to be ill from a previous locations poor dinner and so was feeling queasy and hesitant to eat the dinner we had booked. The staff offered her soup and a custom plain cheese for her while I had the full works on room service.
Garden rooms were splendid - great size bedroom and bathroom. Lovely direct access to the garden - very quiet this time of year. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
