Hilton Cardiff, hotel in Taffs Well

Stay in the heart of Cardiff This luxury hotel is in the city centre, looking out over Cardiff Castle and City Hall.

The breakfast was okay. However, the hot water and coffee were luke warm-cold and its location can become congested.

The gentleman at reception- I think a foreign sounding name. He was brilliant-cheerful, friendly, professional. Welsh cakes at reception a great touch.

Taffs Well, like most small rural towns is a bit run down and dirty. The town has the only thermal springs in Wales and has a rich industrial and railway heritage non of which is promoted by the local council. The area is great for hiking either in the hills, especially the Garth Hill or along the river Taff. The train has a rail link into Cardiff and the trains are frequent. the locals are extremely freindly especially at the Taffs Well Inn.
