We were expecting a single room (which I suppose it was) but it was also the entire top floor of the Inn. It was massive!

Basic and a bit tired but was pleasant and as expected for what we paid.

We arrived at the Wayside and whisky barn on our motorbike after a long ride up from Cheshire for the Dave Myers (Hairy biker) commemorative ride. We had a very lovely welcome from Emiko. Check in was very straightforward, she showed us to our lovely room, room 1. The photos did not do it justice. Emiko has very high standards but this does not make the stay uncomfortable. The accommodation was immaculate, beds so comfortable We didn’t eat dinner there so can’t comment on that. We did have breakfast which was lovely and Doreen the lady that served our breakfast couldn’t do enough for us, you can tell she enjoys meeting people and enjoys what she does. We had a couple of drinks in the bar, that is a lovely comfortable space. Dan, Emiko’s husband is also very welcoming, chatting to me and my husband for a long while (shared interest of motorbikes) Just a lovely stay, will return again for a longer stay in the future. Beautiful location too. Thank you so much.

The location was great for Scaffel Pike. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the host was fantastic with communication.

The guy who worked on reception/ the food service was so welcoming and lovely. Didn’t catch his name, but he deserves a raise. The food was lovely and the bar area was nice and relaxing.

Well equipped kitchen, chilled atmosphere, spacious rooms. Very good location (for the price) especially if you are keen to bag peaks from a base in Wasdale.
