Great place we went out of season but there was still enough bars and tavernas open, but many more to open and they looked good also. We also had two dogs with us and we and them were welcome everywhere. Could not fault the friendly people and the hospitality we had at our hotel and bars and tavernas was first rate. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely fishermen’s town with great tavernas and bars/cafes.
Lovely fishermen’s town with great tavernas and bars/cafes. Chilled and relaxing atmosphere. Very nice beach, again with good tavernas serving delicious Greek and international food. Walking distance between town, beach and hotels. Hidden gem for me.

It is in strategic position, central to reach beautyful beaches on the east and on the west of the village within 30 min-1 hour by car. It is also a small pictoresque and typical greekvillage with a small harbour, full of shop, markets, restaurants and services, but very quiet as well

A very nice village by the sea.
A very nice village by the sea. Lots of options for eating out including tavernas at the next beach to the east. Ferry service from the harbour and tour boats for fishing a sightseeing. One of our favourite locations on Crete.

After coming from Paleochora, I’m afraid Agia Galini was a huge disappointment. It looks tired and run down and the beach is less than spectacular. The view of the water from any restaurant is marred by the rather grotesque breakwater. I would advise folks to stay in Spili. A much prettier town.

Ag. Galini is a beautiful small city, located on the hill.
Ag. Galini is a beautiful small city, located on the hill. Although is a touristic place its quite and peaceful. Everything is near and you don't need the car to move around. The beach is beautiful and the local shops have a great variety. The local cuisine is delicious and the people very friendly.
Our stay in of the amazing and outstanding Stella’s
Apartments made our whole vacation perfect. You can
see that everything has been beautifully thought in
every detail and it really switches you to the ‘holiday
mindset’. Stella is very kind and such a beautiful
person, as all the staff that surrounds her. You have
both the privacy and the facilities of an apartment
and the cleaning services of a hotel. Love the concept
and hope to spend my future holidays there!
The hospitality of the staff is some of the best I experienced in Greece. Aris who I think is the owner or manager goes out of his way every day to make guests feel comfortable in the hotel. He is a passionate person and makes amazing different breakfasts everyday which is a great way to start your day! There is a lot of love and passion in this hotel! Would stay again and again. It’s also so nice to see a hotel provide two pillows to sleep with and not just one.
Monique and Marc are excellent hosts!! Very friendly, sympathetic, always present when needed. They offer great tips for beaches, walks, sightseeing, restaurants... they even developed a very detailed app with numerous walks and suggestions for outdoor activities. It is very clean, they offer many amenities like a fridge filled with local specialities for breakfast for the first days, washing machine, sunshades... just perfect for a relaxing stay!
We stayed here for 3 nights and really had a wonderful time. The building and all the rooms are completely renovated in a modern, super-stylish way. The room was cleaned every day, cleanliness really was exceptional. The owner is a young, super friendly guy who gave us great advice on where to find authentic Greek restaurants and lonely beaches to watch the sunset. We can therefore absolutely recommend this place.
The hotel is great, staff is very kind and professional. The rooms are modern, clean, the bathrooms clean, towels are changed every day. There is a safe, a large balcony. The hotel is in the best position in town, the supermarket is just across the street and of course the restaurants. Agia Galini is a beautiful, small town, so everything is close. The hotel has its own parking which is free
It was turned into a hotel/ rooms in 1966 and still holds that charm, the owner and her daughter run a lovely service for the breakfast after that you are on your own. With bars and restaurants literally under the rooms can’t go wrong, walk for 10 mins to the beach where there are lots of tavernas and bars to keep you lubricated , beach is shingle but has sand once in the water.
The villas are beautifully created, purpose built and very tasteful. The pool is perfect and overlooks stunning views down the mountain to the harbour and ocean. The team on site were super friendly and always available to help on things. Fantastic property with a pool and stunning views, would gladly return. Short drive to lots of beautiful beaches and restaurants
Our overall visit at the hotel was amazing. The Staff are lovely, the breakfast (which was included in our booking) was great with lots of variety, and the view is spectacular. I could just sit and drink my coffee on the terrace for hours! Our room was clean and accommodated our family of 4 very comfortably. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Ask for room 403. It is the best. There is a lift which makes things really easy. We stayed here 3 years ago and were delighted to return even if for only one night. The view from the balcony is superb. The hosts are really nice. Two minutes walk to beach and restaurants. We've stayed in many hotels in Greece, this is the best.
We love the location and the view from the balcony looking over Agia Galini towards the sea. The bed is super comfortable and bed linen and towels are of a very good quality. Thank you Antonis for your hospitality, the water and the raki were much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to our next visit.
Location was great and the rooms were very clean. The pets, Pedro and Phaida, were lovely and greeted guests on arrival and of a morning. The lovely lady who operated the place during our stay was pleasant, welcoming and kind. Breakfast was ok as well. The hotel didn't quite live up to the reviews we had read.
The breakfast was wonderful. Something I found a little odd though, also, with me being standard in Crete. The hotel I don’t give me one beach towel for the week, they wouldn’t wash it without 8 or 6? € fee. Other than that, had a great stay 😆
Location is wonderful
very close to Agia Galini
Views are spectacular
We had a nice family villa with our own pool
Stefania the host was super nice, brought us something yummy to eat every day (cake, fruit, Greek yogurt)
We loved our stay here
Located up the hill from the actual beach this property afforded great views! You need to walk a bit to get to the shops and restaurants but that insulates you from all the hustle and bustle and makes your stay at the property more relaxing.
Exceeded expectations, cozy room in a super cozy small town. Very friendly hosts, great breakfast, great view. Crete was an amazing trip and I could even say this unplanned day in Agia Galini at Akteon was among my favorite.
Great hotel with good location and very comfortable and clean rooms.
The kindness of the hotel owner and the staff are a big plus. They will do their best to advise you on things to do and make you have a lovely stay.
The staff and owners were so friendly and helpful. They always had a smile on. We had a breakfast with a lot of home-made food, which was delicious. For us, the best stay on Crete so far.
