Edessa is a remarkable place with lots to see in the city and around. We visited the waterfalls & Varosi within Edessa, but also Pozar, Kaimaktsalan ski center, Nymfaio, Vegoritida, Bitola and Pella archeological site & museum.

Edessa, also known as the "City of Waters and of the 5...
Edessa, also known as the "City of Waters and of the 5 Senses", until 1923 Vodena, is a city in northern Greece and the capital of the Pella regional unit, in the Central Macedonia region of Greece. It was also the capital of the defunct province of the same name.
Edessa holds a special place in the history of the Greek world as, according to some ancient sources, it was here that Caranus established the first capital of ancient Macedon. Later, under the Byzantine Empire, Edessa benefited from its strategic location, controlling the Via Egnatia as it enters the Pindus mountains, and became a center of medieval Greek culture, famed for its strong walls and fortifications.
In the modern period, Edessa was one of Greece's industrial centers until the middle of the 20th century, with many textile factories operating in the city and its immediate vicinity. Today however its economy mainly relies on services and tourism. Edessa hosts most of the administrative services of the Pella regional unit, as well as some departments of the Thessaloniki-based University of Macedonia.

If you've ever been to a cave before, there's no point in paying to enter the one behind the waterfall. The neighborhood is charming.

A nice little town to escape the heat at sea level, and as a step stone to visit the higher mountains.
The tourist information was very helpful and informative.
We have signed for a year-long citizenship, which buys a free access to the city's rent-a-bike for 1 EURO.
Take a short bike ride or walk to the waterfalls, the old city and the scenic route overlooking the valley below.
Enjoy the drinking water taps across the city and the streams flowing through it.
The tourist information's advice for local restaurants was nothing short of perfect.
During July, roadside plum and pear trees are burdened by sweet colorful fruits, take your time to enjoy a few as you travel this area.

I liked the town near the hotel, with shady places to sit and plenty of places to eat, including one restaurant that provided excellent chicken soup. Some of the historical sites could have been a little better signed, especially those reached on foot via the old paved path down the cliff near the hotel.
This is a beautiful guesthouse in the old town of Edessa. Everything was really nice - a comfortable bed, cute room, super friendly and helpful staff, and a great chill area. A huge bonus is the free parking and the place is only 5 minutes from the waterfalls. There is a nice balcony where you can have a drink and they make delicious Greek coffee! Would absolutely recommend this place, it's great!!!
The house was beautifully designed. Every little detail was thought of and was taken care of in the most perfect way. The location is right in the center and a walking distance from where you want to go in Edessa.
The owners were extremely nice and inviting, they showed us where to go and had great English. They also left a box of treats that we're great. If I could rate more than 10, I would.
From the minute we walked in we were treated like family. The lovely family who ran the hotel were extremely welcoming and accomodating. Rooms were amazing and clean. Breakfast was perfect and they even offered to make fresh eggs. Location was 2 minutes away from the business of the main city and therefore was peaceful and made it easier to sleep. Great hotel would highly recommend.
Hotel is located in the middle of everything. It’s a few minutes away from the main shopping/restaurant area and less than 10 minutes from the glorious waterfall. The room I had was really large, as was the bathroom/shower. I also enjoyed sitting on my balcony in the evening and taking in the city’s energy. Staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions.
Everything. The best accommodation we had in Greece.
We arrived in storm and wind and when we opened the door the fire was already burning and Raki was waiting for us. We took a shower in the super clean bathroom and slept like king and queen in the very very comfortable bed.
We can recommend everyone to stay here and not in another place!
Everything about the property was exceptional. It was a rare occasion when we were ready to post a “perfect” review on the first day of our stay! Flat was in perfect condition and had everything we could wish to find with amenities at a hotel level! Location is excellent as well. Will definitely recommend!
Lovely traditional B&B just minutes' walk from the waterfalls and city centre. The room and reception areas were done up to feel like your grandma's house rather than a hotel, so we felt at home right away. Loved the tea and coffee facilities and robe and slippers!
The hotel is quite old but the hosts have kept it very clean and have managed to keep the facilities functional to a good standard!
The staff was very kind and helped us with everything we needed
The location is excellent and the parking free and available!
The old quarter of Edessa is shabby chic, full of charm - nothing shabby about the Varosi 4 Seasons though, a beautiful old stone mansion, lovingly restored, with a grand reception and lounge area and fabulous views over the plains below.
Room was excellent and the service by the owner was great. Everything was really clean and all of the necessary applications were there.
The room itself is in downtown Edessa and 15 minutes walk from the waterfalls.
1. Very friendly atmosphere in the hotel made by staff.
2. Great breakfasts.
3. Cozy room and hotel lobby.
4. Calm and beautiful location close to the Edessa waterfall.
5. Heater works very well.
The food was amazing the best by far and we’re 1.5 weeks into our trip. The staff (family) went out of their way. The views were beautiful It is 7km away from
Edessa close enough to visit.
The appartment was very comfortable and clean. It's location was at city center, and very close to Edessa's waterfalls. Host was very polite and eager to help.
Excellent value for money. It's a very basic hotel, but everything is very clean and well cared for. The staff are very kind, and the hotel is well located.
