Nice modern hotel with clean rooms. Very comfortable. I didn't have breakfast, so I cannot comment on the restaurant. Has car parking, so that would be a positive during peak season.
Located in Methoni, 1 km from Methoni beach, Achilles Hill Hotel provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Spacious, clean, well-equipped apartment with many windows and a small lovely balcony. We especially liked the central location: a few minutes away from both the bathing beach and many places to eat. The parking lot was spacious and safe.

Methoni is absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed it.
Methoni is absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say is that it is hard to get away to visit other places without a car. There are some buses, to Pylos, Finicounta and Kalamata, but it was impossible to get a timetable. We kind of got round it by getting a taxi to Pylos initially, and the nice man at the bus office wrote down the times of buses between Pylos and Methoni, but we didn't travel around as much as we might have because it was so hard to get the bus times. There are very good local taxi services, but they are a bit pricey to do more than a couple of excursions (for us anyway - no disrespect at all to local taxi driver who were wonderful when we used them). Other than this it is really beautiful and absolutely fantastic food. The beach is lovely and great for swimming and snorkelling. The castle is amazing. Getting a boat to nearby Sapientza is recommended too, as is an excursion to Ancient Messini. The museum at the castle in Pylos is great.

Methoni has a good choice of restaurants, quite a few of which are located around the square which has a lovely atmosphere of an evening. There is plenty of free parking and the castle is worth visiting, especially for the views.
Methoni is a great place to relax and watch the boats or to sip a cocktail while looking at the milky way.

Methoni is a great village for a relaxing beach holiday. It suits families with young children ,couples and solo travellers who want a peaceful holiday. There are lots of traditional Greek restaurants none of the usual tourist fare, the food is amazing our favourite was Sapienza just off the coast road.
The beach is clean with plenty of sunbeds the sea is shallow and crystal clear..I would suggest use the sunbeds in front of the Methoni Beach Hotel.the beds are free you just need to purchase food or drinks. The food is excellent and everything is ordered and brought to your sun lounger. There are lots of friendly cats and some dogs who like following you around the village.
Visiting Methoni castle is a must,it is huge!! It only costs €3 per person the views are amazing with loads of wildflowers inside the ruins.I would be apprehensive though taking young children due to the open steep drops in some cases.
There are 3 gift/tourist shops in the village and two small mini markets. There are two amazing bakeries on the same road our favourite was Athanasiou Bakery a great selection of bread, pastries, cakes and handmade mini ice creams.
The Trojan horse bar makes great cocktails and the staff are helpful and friendly.A good place to try a few cocktails.
Overall visit Methoni and stay in the Achilles hotel. The village is great and easy to walk around for a peaceful beach holiday with none of the usual tourist stuff that can ruin a resort.

Methoni is a quiet unspoiled place, with all the pros and cons.
Restaurants are quite good, parking spaces are plenty and many places/beaches nearby to go to.
One huge disappointment is the main attraction: Methoni castle is one of the biggest and most important castles in the whole country but at night it is pitch-black ... zero effort was put in illumination, what a pity!
Absolutely everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts.
The villa was even more beautiful than the photos.
Incredible views, beautiful new swimming pool, sun loungers, beach towels, well laid out accommodation, comfortable beds, fantastic location near to the beach, tavernas, the gorgeous town of Methoni and Pylos.... The list goes on.
None of our group wanted to leave. 4 adults and 1 teen, all different generations but all thoroughly enjoyed the peace, space and everything mentioned above.
The host , Maria , met us to welcome us and show us to our apartment, the location is superb, lovely view over a field to the sea and just a stroll into methoni town, you can walk along the seafront or take a rural walk through the tracks passing goats, cows and horses.. everything you need is within a 10 minute walk , the apartment itself, although a little dated, has everything you need and is spotlessly clean, the outdoor balcony is shaded and private.. very good value for money and would recommend:)
Breakfast in the garden! The host is charming and friendly. Offered us a choice of drinks on arrival which we took in the garden terrace. The room, beds, and shower were very clean and comfortable. WiFi worked well. Parking available on the streets outside the hotel. Short walk to several restaurants, the castle, and the beach. But that breakfast served at tables in the garden terrace is the most memorable part of the stay. Great choice of foods.
The location is great. The view from the rooms and the common areas is exceptional. The area is quiet but still close to Methoni, the castle and the beach. Easy parking in the property. The rooms are spacious and clean and have all modern amenities. Breakfast is good, though it could be improved with more local delicacies. The staff very polite and helpful. Overall, a value for money choice.
We decided to take a last minute trip to Methoni before heading up to Pilos. Dimitri the owner was very pleasant and hospitable. He offered to take my girlfriend's bag up to our room. The hotel is walking distance to the Fortress and right next to the square where there's a few restaurants and breakfast places. The location was perfect for us as we arrived late from a long drive.
We loved the pool area, the spacious apartment and the hospitality of Marios. Super bonus were the cats, especially Carrot. And when we found a tiny injured orphan cat in the streets of Methoni, Marios knew who to call and took great care.
We recommend the beach at Lambes as well and grocery shopping is best done in Pylos (AB).
Thanks so much for everything!
The hotel room was very well equipped and very clean. It is close to the beach and in the centre.
I can't talk about our host how nice and dedicated he is. Really passionate about every detail so that his guests will have their best stay.
The breakfast was very good.
The beds are very comfy and the place was very quiet (we visited in april)
I so loved the balcony! Enjoying my morning coffee and tobacco pipe right next to pool was the 1st highlight of our stay. The second was the boat trip we did with Jan on our 3rd day in Methoni. Both Jan and Will were the perfect hosts and they've truly built something unique. Keep up the good work!
My husband and I stayed for 1 night here and we had a lovely stay. The room was very comfortable with great amenities and in a central part of Methoni. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We were surprised by how generous and tasty the breakfast was! I’d highly recommend Achilles Hotel.
Great location near to Methoni castle and the beach. There are plenty of brilliant restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is modern with large rooms with good facilities. The family go the extra mile to ensure you have a perfect stay.We would certainly return again.
The breakfast buffet had a good variety and a lot of healthy options (e.g. fruit). Excellent service and very welcoming people at the hotel. Very responsive to our requests and catered to all our needs. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.
Room was as expected. Spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and a nice balcony with great view of the beach and the castle. It is just a 5 mins walk to Methoni and the nearby beach. The owner is very polite and helpful.
We had a fantastic stay at Methoni Bay View Villas. Location was great and Katerina was an excellent and extremely friendly host - she even left us some treats in the villa! Totally recommend!
The host was very friendly, looked after me well.
He frequently asked if I am alright, if I need anything.
He told me about the boat trips around Methoni...
Breakfast served under the reception and it has outside patio with great views. each room has a private balcony with a viwe to the Methoni harbor and castle.
Very nice hotel style rooms. Very clean and the owner was super friendly and helpful with advice and suggestions. great view of the beach and a garden.
