The staff were very friendly and we have a 5 year old and they gave him a lot of time and attention asking him loads of questions and really made him part of the stay. We had asked for room close by and they actually arranged us to have adjoining rooms which was a great bonus. The breakfast the next morning was fabulous. It was such a pleasant surprise that we both said we are going to try and stay there again next year.

Great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet stay in a small traditional village. Located within walking distance of the town. Especially enjoyed the traditional Killeen's pub, which offered entertainment most nights, a very friendly atmosphere, a small grocery store with dry goods, lunch and dinner, and lots of helpful advice. Lunch and dinner is also available at Lukers which serves great food and overlooks the river, the bridge, and the Napoleonic fortress. Great location for people interested in visiting Clonmacnois and a good central location for visiting Athlone and many points in the Republic of Ireland.

It was very picturesque bedside the river Shannon where all the boats were moored, the people were very friendly,The village is very well kept but there was only one restaurant which could do with update of exterior. There was good music six nights a week in Killeens bar and also a brand new bar Fallons which had a very friendly barman Liam and friendly patrons many of whom came from the nearby boats. There are lots of sights for example Clonmacnoise,Shannon Harbour,,Birr Castle and nature trails .Very good restaurants in nearby towns like Birr and Tullamore
