I might have stayed another night or two. We didn't have a chance to explore very far, and I had enough shopping. Our hotel had room service for food which was wonderful.
We ate at a rooftop fish restaurant and it was very bland. I was hoping for spicy food! Breakfast at Joes Cafe was good. It seemed to be the hot spot for Westerners.

It’s better to do the monuments early in the morning and hire a guide who will ride with you to take you to all the monuments as it’s too hot in June. It will take around 3 hours or more.
If you have nice zoo in your city for crocodiles and alligators then avoid the crocodile park as it doesn’t have anything special. Rest there’s nothing else to do in Mahabalipuram. Food in restaurants like A2b n all depends upon how clean you would like your food to be, I found the restaurant extremely crowded and unhygienic.

Very easy to walk about to all the major sights.
Very easy to walk about to all the major sights. No need for rickshaws unless you find walking arduous. They are available.
Some of the Kashmiri and Ladakhi shop owners really pushy. Most good humoured and we all know it’s a haggling game and people need to make a living. At the end of the day ask yourself how much you really want something and when you’ll be back. Most of these chaps send money home to families and travellers money main source of income
Go to Akka Creations on 39-48 Othavadai Street. The most amazing textile creations and fixed prices as manufactured by group of 100 or so women just out of Mahabs. I bought lots there including a beautiful elephant cushion cover for 500 rupees. Everything really well made.
Must place for authentic and tasty food is Mamalla Bhavan near bus station. A local institution that will not disappoint and cheap.

All the sight seeing places are well maintained by ASI, if you are passing by the road then one must visit the place as it will take only 2/3 hours to visit the place and will enjoy the humid climate.
The hotel is located on the main thoroughfare down to the beach which is packed with shops, cafes and restaurants. The staff were very welcoming especially Ganesh and the lady whose name I didn't get. We were able to pay with an international credit card at no extra cost. The room was large with a balcony - the shower worked well, you just had to wait a while for the hot water to come through but then it was very hot. Ganesh was particularly attentive during our stay offering us water and for the room to be cleaned.
Room was of very good size and had all the amenities expected at a 5 star hotel like Radisson Temple Bay. The property has a large meandering pool and an infinity pool. The landscaping was also very green and soothing to the eyes. The breakfast spread was also quite elaborate and we had a good time with the band playing at the restaurant in the evening at dinner when we had an Ala Carte meal.
Good ambience. The resort is located in the midst of a lot of trees and greens. Gives one the feeling of a forest getaway, but with the proximity to a beach and historical/architectural grandeur.
The swimming pool is a plus.
The rooms are fairly normal. Decent food options. The included restaurant does a fair job.
Great location. Very close to all the main attractions at mahabalipuram.
Excellent stay at the property. The pool is just amazing and you can spend a whole day in and around it. The beach is accessible with the hotel buggy, less than a minute ride. They also provide different activities in the property so it's fun if you're a group. Restaurant is great as well.
One of the good hotel. They upgrade my normal room booked to a better room without any extra cost. Their staff are good and i really loved the smell of flowers at night throughout the corridor. Good Ambience. They keep extra dustbin ready.
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Gave a real village feel, I enjoyed the walks through the paddy fields, milking the cow and making pots with clay. Food was good. The cultural evening was excellent. And just 5 kms from Mahabalipuram.
The location is what and love about the place and the reason behind booking it. The beach, Cafes’s & Hotels are couple of minutes walk from the location. The room is decent for the price of Rs 1137/-
Large room, although bathroom noises from nextdoor guests could clearly be heard.Hotel on the edge of Mahabalipuram. Helpful staff. Swimming pool was nice, but could get over crowded at times
New theme hotel in Chennai around which brings nationalism, cross culture etc
Mini bar costs included in room costs is good. No timely closure of breakfast. Walkers can have fun.
The property is located close to the beach.
It's also quite close to the main road in Mahabalipuram.
Our host Arun is very helpful! He'll do anything to make you comfortable.
The hotel is a newly constructed one with good parking space. It gave very pleasent vibes. The hotel very well accommodated my preference of a king size room as I had a baby
The hotel is very close to all the temples of Mahabalipuram so very easy to visit on foot. The room was clean with air conditioning and the staff were very helpful.
This hotel is value for money and near to the beach. Food can be ordered(good food). I will like to go again there.
The nearest pallava beach is facinating.
