Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good value for the money. Also, having the parking (paid) at the front door was a bonus.
If you go to Viterbo for the Papi Spa only, then this might be a good place to stay as you need to drive to the spa.
Alla Corte delle Terme is set in extensive grounds, and offers a free shuttle to/from the Terme dei Papi thermal baths, 2.5 km away.

The location is super central - you can walk everywhere. No need to have a car but if you do there's some parking and although my car was too large for the tiny old streets, I was able to leave it in the local piazza.
I am a solo female traveller and I felt very safe.
The Balletti Palace Hotel is a modern and pleasant establishment in Viterbo, set close to the Porta Fiorentina Railway Station and minutes away from the well-preserved medieval area.
We didn't stay. The hotel was closed and abandoned. There was a padlock on the front gate. Their phone number is disconnected. You need to remove them from your site. We had to rebook a hotel at the going rate for same day check in. I'm expecting some sort of reimbursement for our troubles.
