I don't eat cakes for breakfast. it would be good idea to have healthy breakfast such as more fruits.

We LOVED EVERYTHING about this accommodation. Located inside the walls of the medieval town of Barga, Barga-Gallicano is easily accessible from Pisa by train and then a short taxi ride to Barga itself (not walkable). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was AMAZING and we definitely plan to return! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owners Cathy and Walter, their hospitality was beyond our expectations along with the room that we stayed in for 2 nights. Personally, I don't feel there is a better place to stay in Barga.

The hotel has a very beautiful setting. The space was clean and cool, despite the heat. There is a full kitchen for guests to use and some basic supplies for breakfast, including delicious home made jams. The host is extremely kind and helpful, we really enjoyed chatting to her in the kitchen.

This is a place with a million dollar view high in the mountains. Kind of a farm house, restored. Very basic, but well done. If you love nature, this is it. We were simply taken away by this place.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day.
Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful.
The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a market once a week - recommended.
If travelling by train, allow plenty of extra time in case of line changes - the cost of train travel is low but remember to validate your ticket on the station platform before boarding.
Barga is a fabulous Tuscan location.

The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys.
The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys. They can be quite steep, so wear flat shoes with a good tread. From the hillside and the duomo you will enjoy amazing views of the mountains and the valley. The newer section of town outside the walls is also lovely and worth a visit.
Everything was perfect! The apartment is a peaceful little gem with a big terrace and a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. The location is very convenient, Barga city centre can be easily reached with a 5 minutes walk and it's a good base to reach many trails and attractions in Garfagnana. The hosts, Mairi and Fabio, are incredibly nice and gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do. We'll definitely go back when visiting Garfagnana again!
This small hotel on the top of the mountain is awesome. Older, yet we'll maintained, clean, and incredible views. Breakfast is at the excellent restaurant ten minutes walk uphill. Other delicious meals are also available at the restaurant, and by US standards are affordable. There are roads and paths for trekking, and sports courts if you are interested. There is no pool.
Because I was here in off season, there were fewer tourists, so they upgraded my room to one with a balcony and view!!
The location was wonderful - a quiet street in the charming old town part of Barga with good restaurants very close by including a lively cafe with good food in a loggia. Giordano was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is exceptionally interesting, in a multi-floor large house, with several rooms full of paintings. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, not fancy but with a great view of the town and mountains. Overall, my wife and I loved out stay.
Fab property in a great location - couldn’t believe we found a villa with a pool within an easy walk of Barga old town . Pool was lovely and plenty of space both indoors and out with lovely views of the mountains . We visited with my sister and family - 10 in total , adults, young adults and teenagers and everyone loved it . The villa was well equipped and hosts were excellent . Wouldn’t hesitate to return to Villa Sophia and would totally recommend .
The name literally means In the Sky…of Barga…and the location lived up to its name. It is located just below the Duomo, the highest point in this enchanting medieval town. From the room and its nice sized balcony, the rooftops are just below, offering incomparable vistas of Barga and the Serchio River valley. Great bed. Nice bathroom. But it’s the views that are incomparable.
The beautiful farmhouse near Barga was stunning. It was very peaceful, the room was was traditional and comfortable. The couple that own the structure are lovely people, they were very helpful when we had an issue with our rental car, they provided a lovely breakfast and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back again!
An excellent apartment which has all the comfort a proper home has, good quality beds and pillows, stylish decoration, a well-equipped kitchen, clean and spacious. The apartment is in a great location in Barga, which is one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany. We loved our stay at Casa Robina and we cannot wait to come back again.
Breakfast table was lovely , good selection, Happy to make us pancakes or eggs in whatever way we wanted . Staff were lovely . Room was large , air-conditioning was a blessing , I loved the casual feel of this hotel more like staying in a very large villa .
It was our first ever visit to Barga and our stay was perfect. The history and art displayed around the hotel was gorgeous to see!
Fantastic views from our room of the town, the facilities were great. I would highly recommend staying here.
The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and clean with a lovely large balcony area and great views. The grounds and pool looked very pleasant. The hotel was easy to find and parking was very convenient.
This apartment was beautiful. Really quirky and different. Beautiful surroundings I wish we had longer but we will definitely consider it for the future when we return to Barga.
The bed is super comfy!
Clean and comfortable house - just 20 minutes walking from the historical center of Barga. Big rooms - more than enough for 4 people. Surrounded by small garden. Free parking place nearby.
The location in Barga's "old town" is unmatched. Quiet, comfortable accommodations, just a few steps from wonderful restaurants and everything Barga has to offer.
Cathy was a great host. Full of info and local knowledge. Room was spectacular. A true first class experience. I would advise anyone visiting Barga to stay here.
