Proprietor was very helpful even though we spoke no Italian and he doesn't speak English. Sadly we had to leave before breakfast as we needed to set out very early before the weather got too hot (pilgrims walking the Way of St Francis). We were still offered pastries and coffee before we left

This was an amazing stay. I took more videos than pictures of the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and so comfortable. The decorations and attention to detail is there throughout and you can see it. The staff are friendly and very helpful. My room was very nice , and very comfortable. I want to particularly give many heartfelt thanks to the manager Sophia and the receptionist Lucia. Communication started before I arrived in Italy to plan activities. I didn't realize how far I would be out from Florence and transfers being expensive , Sophia went above and beyond to find me the same activities in the area that I was going to do in Florence. She was always there to give suggestions and recommendations. I felt I always had a lot of questions to ask but she was always very polite and willing to help no matter how many times I apologized. Lucia was equally helpful. She helped me navigate my travels and always asked if I need anything further. On my last day I had to leave by 7:00 am, the day before Lucia asked me if I would like a breakfast to go. The morning I left Lucia made me a tea and had a breakfast packed in a box. The bartender although I didn't get his name he always greeted me with a small and made this cherry drink I kept going back for. The customer service here is top tier. You guys are truly amazing. Thank you so much for all your help. I would go back for the customer service alone. I would go back to just explore the area of Stia.

The kindness and helpfulness of the lady owner exceeded all my expectations. She willingly changed rooms for me when the opportunity arose, because I wanted to try a room with a balcony. She sent an assistant car and helped me with translation when my car broke down in a distant city. Whatever I asked, I got an answer from her, she provided a solution. The accommodation is breathtaking, wery clean, comfortable and quiet. The lady owner and his colleague are very kind, the landscape and the city are beautiful, and the nearby restaurants are excellent.

It is very peaceful and the weather was great ( cool ).Being surrounded by forest , the air was fresh and clean.A visit to the old library in the hermitage is a must ! We have a friend who is a monk in Camaldoli who arranged the visit for us . If not,we believe you have to send an email at least a day before to book a visit .
the personnel was outstanding, extremely kind and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, with all local products. To visit the Camaldoli monastery and the "eremo" (hermitage) the location is perfect. Also plenty of trekking paths in the forest.
The hotel has great character and charm, built in 1700, lots of history and a wonderful setting in the forest.
The staff were all wonderful and helpful. We had everything we needed; clean; good breakfast.
