Fiumicino is best known for its access to the Eternal City through Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport. Despite this recent claim to fame, Fiumicino includes several archaeological sites around the ancient harbors of Ostia and Portus. It was wonderful to walk along the river amongst so many locals enjoying drinks or dinner. It felt like the airport was miles away . Transfer to airport is cash only but convenient. ATMs are close by the hotel This time I had plenty of time to find the local bus to take me back to the airport and although ‘cheap as chips @ 1euro it’s not an easy option with large cases. I felt delighted I found the pickup place but needed to ask a local to point me up the right street. I have never been able to successfully find the pickup point at the airport and have tried several times so to finally get to airport was very satisfying.JillAustralia - 10Scored 10

The river Tiber is running from Rome and going to the sea at Fiumichino. The Fiumichino airport is 10 minutes away by car. Fine place for staying before or after flight. The molo is a nice place for a walk. Good place for finding something to eat.

We stayed one night at Il Piccolo before our flight home. The accommodation was really close to the airport and Costantino helped me organise a shuttle to the airport. The place was lovely and clean and the communication was very good. Breakfast was supplied and it was amazing. As we had a late flight we were able to leave our luggage at the place while we explored Fiumicino. Would highly recommend Il Piccolo.

The location close to the airport was good for us and the time that we had available. The port was a short walk away and had good restaurants and a nice vibe. The breakfast was OK, simple and adequate for us. It would have been improved if we had access to more than just a kettle and coffee machine as we got a takeaway pizza and had no plates. Fiera 1 is the one that is connected to the shopping mall building. Very easy just to cross over the track with the upper walkway and down. It also is convenient location to take the train. Considering this hotel is half the price of the hotels at the airport I would highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast is very good, a lot of cakes, but poor choise for salty breakfast. the shuttle to the airport is very useful!

Luca is very welcoming and helpful, he offers shuttle service to and from airport and gives great advice on where to eat in Fiumicino. We will definitely return if flying to Fiumicino again.
