The location was peaceful and calma, located close to the eremo of san Bartolomeo (walking distance). 20 min away by car from Valle dell'Orfento, ideal for walks and trekking. The food was local and tasty, and the staff was very helpful. Also, it's a perfect spot for climbers, just 10 minutes away from a huge "falesia"

The breakfast was absolutely excellent, home cooked and extensive. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe and at a home away from home! I can't wait to return to Hotel Mazzocca again! The view from the balconies out to the national park where also exceptional.

Roccamorice is a lovely little town on the doorstep of the Majella National Park. It's an excellent location for hikes in the region, for discovering the many sanctuaries, other small towns and just soaking up the atmosphere of lovely Abruzzo.
There are a few restaurants in the town itself, just bear in mind that in Italy there are fixed times for lunch and dinner and pre-booking a table is recommended. The restaurants we tried (Ai Quattro Sentieri and Osteria Del Belvedere) all had tasty local food, so a great spot to try some local Abruzzese meals.
