Vens is a hamlet at elevation 1700m, in Val d'Aosta, on the Comune St Nicolas. It's high up on the mountain side but easy to find, it is very quiet and in the middle of a stunning nature and scenery. With all the wild mountainous experiences around. We hade the chance to see the "Desarpe", a francoprovençal word to picture the time all the cows are herd down from the alpine pastures to the valley where they spend the cold winter.
The restaurant at the hotel is great - it doesn't offer a large variety, but the food is really good. The location is nice - it's a small town with a forest park nearby, and a chapel with great views and a promenade lit at night. The single room wasn't large but I've seen much smaller, so not bad. Also a balcony with a view was a nice plus.
amazing . beautiful place m favourite hotel and restuarante in the whole world . The food is the best I have tasted in all Italy . The view and tranquillity is the best . I love being in nature . It is a wonderful spot . The rooms are cute and cosy and I feel like I am in a fairy tale .
What a location! Getting to the hotel and back was one of the best part of our trip, and once there we did not want to leave :) It's incredibly cozy, the restaurant was excellent and the staff is incredibly - the place has been in the same family for more than 60 years, and it shows!
Very helpful stuff. Manager gives very helpful information about trekking near by.there are a lot of beautiful trails that start near the hotel. It is also located on the top of a mountain with the most magnificent view you can imagine
Good amenities, almost all things needed (bathroom equipment, fully equipped kitchen, etc) were foreseen, the rooms are in a quite good condition and the view is very nice.
Easy parking in front of the hotel.
The location for walking and hiking is unbeatable. The restaurant which was really good and not too expensive. The people at the hotel were really nice and helpful.
