The staff is super friendly, the hotel is a lovely structure, with beautiful views and common spaces. Breakfast is very rich and amazing quality, ad well as the food in the restaurant. Easy, free and comfortable parking is provided by the hotel, which is necessary in this area. Entry to a lovely beach and wellness centre is included. We only stayed 1 night because we had other plans, but we would have loved to stay much longer.

Vico Equense is a small but lively town, very easily walkable, and with great connections to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento and more by train or taxi. We especially liked that it was not as crowded as other towns near the Amalfi Coast, yet has many opportunities to walk and see the surrounding area. We stayed at the Cubo Apartments, near the town center and loved it. We found some delightful walking paths, both down to the beach area and into the olive groves on the outskirts of town, as well as being able to walk the streets. We visited a number of restaurants, including La Salumaria, a great place for local beer, excellent appetizers and full meals, just off the town square. Gabrielle's is a popular walk-in place for sweets, sandwiches and gelatos, with excellent variety and service - a local favorite! A hidden jewel is the Museum of Minerology, also near the town center and with easy access. We spent several fascinating hours there, and were treated like special guests! We would go back to Vico Equense in a heartbeat!

Vico Equense is a charming town reaching from the coast up into the hills. It has plenty of restaurants ( a pizza restaurant which serves metre long pizzas )and stores and the best gelato place! The train will take you anywhere or take a bus but for sure wander the quaint streets and alleyways. Easy to fall in love with Vico.

Vico Equense is a charming little town with not too many tourists - at least not when we were there in April. The people were generally friendly and could speak english. It is a short 10 minute train trip from Vico Equense to Sorrento and about half an hour to Pompei.

Vico Equense is a small quiet town that is full of friendly and kind locals. Me and my family were so pleased that we picked Vico Equense over Sorrento for our stay. You will like Vico Equense if you like having a morning run up to the hill or down to the beach. We were so lucky that we could join the triennial Good Friday Procession at Vico Equense, it was just an amazing experience. If you like gelato (who doesn't!?), do try the brioche con gelato at Gelateria Gabrielle, it is so nice and you can choose two flavours! For restaurants, we love eating at Ristorante al buco; we went there twice during our one-week stay! Vico Equense is just a beautiful place, it doesn't take you long to get to the busy Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples Central. So yes, for us, just perfect!

Use local bus services and trains, cheap and reliable. Roads are choc-a-bloc!
Fab port, hire a boat to take you around the coast of Sorrento and Almalfi or take a ferry. It’s a great place and a lot quieter than Sorrento etc.

Vico Equense was the perfect launch point to see other places on the Amalfi Coast. The city itself is small, but has numerous restaurants, a beautiful beach and a lovely viewpoint and likely other attractions that I did not encounter. I chose this destination as I sought an affordable apartment with a kitchen for our stay. I love eating out while traveling, but I also greatly enjoy the food markets and being able to purchase local food and wine and enjoying it with a view - especially at the end of long day of sightseeing. Vico Equense is definitely a walking city. It is also incredibly easy to catch the train and/or bus to get to other sites. I would definitely stay here again.
We chose the Astoria as our base for exploring the Naples Bay area (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Capri, Vesuvius etc) and we couldn't have chosen better. Vico Equense was a lovely little town, and the hotel was right next to the train station, so easy to get around. The staff were really friendly (especially the older gentleman in charge of the restaurant :), the breakfast was fine and there was parking behind the hotel for 10 Euro a day which is fair. Our room had a view across the terrace to the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius.
The property was beautiful. It is a bit remote, however definitely worth the drive. The family went above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable and we enjoyed so much talking to them and the other guests. This was one of the most unique stays we've ever had, and definitely the most memorable part of our trip in Italy. As we were leaving, we were already saying it would be great to come back next year - it really was the best and we are eternally grateful for how hospitable and welcoming the family of the villa was.
The location is 10+ in the old part of Vico Equense. Our host was welcoming us in person when we arrived. The apartment is spacious and during warm season you also have a terrace to spend some time. We had the opportunity to have light continental breakfast in a nearby cafe which was ok for us; of course you can cook your own breakfast if you like. The most important thing to us was our host was very responsive and helped us in all matters and stretched even beyond what you could expect during your vacation.
Salvatore and his family are wonderful people. They made us feel very welcome.. like family. Above and beyond service when it came to checking in, recommendations during our stay. The actual room itself had so much character and a view of Vesuvius. Their family restaurant offered quite possibly the best food we had in Italy at affordable prices. The bus stop is a nice walk from the hotel, that will take you to downtown Vico / train station. This makes it very easy to explore the peninsula.
VERY clean! You get to truly experience the Italian culture here. I highly recommend renting scooters (roughly 40-60 euros per day). It makes it easier to travel up/down the hill. The owners were so nice, and the area is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! It is roughly 50 minutes from Positano and roughly 45min it’s from Sorrento. I loved experiencing the Italian culture here, it doesn’t compare to the rest of the “City life” of Italy.
We arrived a little after midnight and the man at the reception desk was so welcoming and friendly! He made us feel very welcome at his hotel and also Italy as we came straight from the airport. The rooms were amazing. The seashell decor gave a clean & beautiful feel. And breakfast downstairs in the morning was great! Also the view of the water & Mt Vesuvius across the street was stunning.
Vico Equense is located in the middle between visiting Napoli and Pompei and on the other side all the Amalfi coast.
The hosts, Maria and Pepe are wonderful people, and very helpful. They gave us recommendations for restaurants at Sorento and in Vico Equense (Mustaffa, was delicious) and even booked for us.
Pepe is a great chef and makes the most delicious Corneto for breakfast.
Fantastic holiday in Vico Equense. CASA Resilienza is the perfect location to stay. It is in the city centre near the main square , bar and restaurants.
Stefania is an excellent host. She loves her job and she makes everything perfect for her guests. She provided lots of tips and advices and support us in every requests. Thanks for all.
We will definitely come back
All the vacations was perfect, the service on the hotel was perfect, all of them was very nice and available for every question we had. The location was perfect and there is a bus station near the hotel. Also there is a very good pizza next to the hotel and 2 min walk from a supermarket!
Also the breakfast was perfect!
Very recommend about this place!
This was such a wonderful experience, I truly cannot put into words. The house, gardens and view are so lovely, making it an overall superb location. My husband and I could not stop looking around thinking how lucky we were to be there! We stayed for 4 days and explored Vico Equense a bunch, but would definitely come back.
I loved that is was at a great location, easy to get to the best restaurants, gelateria, train station and beaches.
The host is lovely and had a list of activities, tours and places for us to visit, which helped us a lot! I strongly recommend it and can’t wait to go back to Vico Equense!
Perfect location for experiencing everything the coast has to offer. Vico Equense is a smaller city approx. 7km before Sorrento and it was a perfect starting point. Several Michelin star restaurants nearby. Will also definately recommend the beach club at Capo la Gala (5 minute drive).
Breakfast was best we have had in Italy, staff go out of their way to please, room spotless and modern, mini bar very good price, 6 minute walk down to town, pool and sun loungers great bonus, definitely recommend and will stay again if in this area. Underground garage parking.
It’s very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served daily in the basement of the hotel which is also very nice and clean. Luca always is very accommodating and available to answer questions.
We had an amazing view from our room. Very central and perfect location. There are many restaurants nearby. The hotel has a private beach club that we really enjoyed.
The best thing about this hotel is the position on the cliff and the view.
The view is really beautiful. Hotel is near Sorrento.
Capuchino is really good.
amazing super genuine apartment, very typical of Italy and the town was well located, the decoration was great of the house. the terrazza is great !!!!
