The photos on booking.com don't do this place justice. The house is super clean and the bathroom looks brand new. Very warm and homely feeling. The staff was so polite and helpful. She even gave us a house tour and was smiling all the time. She even called a nearby restaurant to help us make a booking for dinner. Very good value for money.

I appreciated the staff offering me help. They kept my luggage before and after my time, so I could explore the town well. I arrived by bus + foot, and they gave me a ride to the bus station on my return. They dressed me in Yukata(summer kimono) and were ready to chauffeur me to an outdoor evening show, but I declined and enjoyed my bath in my backyard. Whereas usual Ryokan serves food in your room, this place has two food serving areas, and they walked me to different rooms for dinner and breakfast. I liked the nice garden views from two different locations.

The guest house was spacious, had everything you'd need and was very clean. Rie and her staff were welcoming and friendly. Although Rie was busy, she took the time to ask about my plans, suggested places to visit, showed me around Mamihara and picked me up from one of the sightseeing sites as it was a hot day when I visited. Nice space with traditional futons. Very spacious and quiet. Very nice host who also baked wonderful bread for our breakfast. The owner is currently building a restaurant next door so having meals there might be a possibility in the near future.
