Great cozy room with tatami mats. Slept very comfortably. The location is great, close to onsens and food store right outside. Host was fantastic, very friendly and kind, and knowledgeable about the area.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.
Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street.
Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night which was too short.
overall Kinosaki Onsen is a gem of a village. It is picture perfect and with lots of "protected" traditional Japanese wooden frame homes.
You travel back in time ! old houses, people on yukatas and clogs, a small stream passes thru the middle of town with willow trees. few vehicles and few locals on roads, a typical tourist village.
The best time to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience - dusk. Esp with the street lights and lights from the roadside buildings
My Ryokan is fantatstic - we visited during shoulder season and prices were great. Will come again in autumm 2024. there are extra costs to be paid for public onsen but well worth.
Tried 4 public onsen which was awesome - cave onsen, outdoor onsen facing a mountain stream, outdoor onsen. The morning public bath was less busy with few users while the evening baths was very busy, My choice of onsen was Gohsonronyu, outdoor facing a trees and mountain stream and the cave onsen. kinosaki is technically an ONSEN village.
we dropped our luggage to be delivered to hotel opposite the train station. went exploring the village and used the cable car to offer prayers to the village onsen guardian. everywhere is within walking distance

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in.
Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in. However, it can get a bit touristy during some months. We went in September which is considered the low season, yet we felt that there were too many people around. However =, it is still the best onsen town in the Kansai region.
It's a wonderful property with attentive staff who go above and beyond my expectations. It was a little expensive compared with any other hotel in Japan, but I guess that is to be expected around the August long weekend in a resort type town. Unfortunately we had a typhoon blow throgh when we were there so we had to leave a day early, as I was very much looking forward to another great breakfast and soak in their onsite onsen. Oh well, I'll just have to go back to do it again!
Great location overlooking beach, with the sound of waves crashing all night (there is a road between hotel and beach). Staff were lovely. Dinner was a fascinating selection of local treats. Perfect little onsen on the ground floor. Free transfers to and from the station.
Be advised, if you are coming by train make sure you are in the front carriage, as only these doors will open at Takeno.
All of the staff members were very accommodating and friendly. They took their time to explain everything to us and we had a great time visiting the onsen around the town. The location of the hotel is great - tucked away in a quiet area but right next to all of the action. Dinner and breakfast was also an amazing experience, food was delicious and we were very full after eating.
Location is in the center of the town so easy walk to all places. Front desk staff is friendly .Dinner with seasonal crabs is tasty though we are being seated in a very awkward location directly face the entrance when there are still plenty of empty seating. The owner’s paintings demonstrated in the hotel is a nice addition. Also family onsen is available to use free of charge.
The staff is friendly and can explain every bit of the hotel facility. It has three onsens for guests to use privately on "First Come First Serve" basis so that the guest can be really relaxed without the interruption with strangers. The crab dinner was exceptionally tasty and everyone can enjoy more than 1 whole crab in different styles.
The hotel, the staff, and the meals were all amazing. Our group only knew a little bit of Japanese but every employee we met took the time to talk to us, and answer questions whether they had much English or not. It made us feel very welcome! The traditional breakfast and dinner were an experience, as well as being delicious.
Brilliant. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and were very accommodating of our inability to speak Japanese. We had fallen sick at a different town and the hotel manager personally took us to the doctor and helped us navigate the process. The food was incredible and the onsen was lovely. Thank you Oyado Seri!
The dinner and breakfast we had here were some of the best meals we had in Japan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a great location for visiting the local onsen. It was quiet and calm in our room with a lovely view of misty mountains. And it was fun to try the 3 private onset in the hotel!
The receptionists are professional and friendly. They will carry and place your parcel in your room if you buy something from shopping website. The room is clean and brand new and very cozy. And the hotel provides the shuttle bus service is really helpful.
The hotel is new and beautifully decorated with a modern style. It has a nice balcony overlooking out to town. Full amenities for the hot springs including the hot spring pass are provided. They even give you a free lift to and from the train station.
This hotel is exceptional. Brilliant room and very helpful staff.
Good laundry facility.
Really close to the Onsen and hotel guests get a 100 yen reduction in cost for entry.
A good selection of snacks also.
May have been the first Kiwi to visit!
The personal was very friendly and helpful.
The Dinner was one of the best, we had in Japan. One evening beef Shabu Shabu was served. World class. The hotel is placed in the center of Kinosaki, so one can reach every Onsen in a few minutes walk.
The owner has very very strong service mind. They gave me an impressive experience here such as welcome tea ceremony. He also guided me to nice places not far from the hotel. The hotel room is so big and clean.
Even though the hotel is located a little distance from central Kinosaki, there is a shuttlebus service.
The dinner buffet had a lot of variety!
The ambience inside the hotel is relaxing as well.
We loved the stay! It was very cozy and the staff was attentive. We are English speaking and had no problem figuring the hotel out. We loved the massage chairs!
The hotel is not on the onsen street but it provides free shuttle to and from the street, which is very convenient. The hotel is nice and dinner is good
