Is it an overstatement to say that this was our very best (kite) holiday ever? I don't think so. The Rascals kite resort is a fantastic place to kitesurf, with an amazing crew who are always there to help you. We were able to kite at several beautiful spots near the lagoon! And besides that, the resort was a nice place to chill, eat (really) good food, take a dip in the pool, have a drink and take yoga classes. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! In any case, we can't wait to come back to The Rascals.

We came off season just for the beach since we don't kite. Besides us there were not many other guests. The staff upgraded us into a better room, which was extremely spacious, well equipped and super clean. The patio is nicely made and gives some space to work out and relax. The hotel is directly at the beach and also within walking distance to other beach restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly.

We stayed off-season and had the place mostly to ourselves, so it was very peaceful. Our room was cool and comfortable, and had a nice outdoor bathroom. The location by the lagoon and a short walk to the beach was fantastic (bear in mind it's not the kind of beach you can swim in). The food was great and the staff were helpful.

We were very disappointed with the dulux room which we were initially allocated. The were 4 beds in a double room. It was very dirty, rusted chairs, stained table, badly stained curtains and dirty bathroom. Pictures were sent to the owner and he upgraded us the next day to another building which were much better with a cost of £30 extra daily fro the 2 rooms we had booked. The place itself is in the middle of nowhere and is accessed by a dirt and very bouncy road. No snorkelling or swimming could be enjoyed in the muddy‘lagoon’

Beautiful beaches, almost empty because it is not the season. We spent only two days but to explore all at least 3 four days are necessary. As for food not much options were available and did not see any well functioning restaurants in town. The resorts have their own restaurants but everything looks pretty basic due to low tourist count I guess these days

beautiful, quiet and almost untouched on the beaches it was like being on a desert island but with some creature comforts. don't expect to walk to too many places for drinks and restaurants as most places are resorts and there are only a few beach bars in a couple of areas.
do the ocean activities, and definitely learn to kite surf!!!!! its amazing.

The place is really far away from everything else, so it's important to stay here a while. The wonderful thing about the place is that basically there is nothing but a beach and a lagoon, perfect for kitesurfing. If you have a diving license you can also see the reef.
Staying at Majestic was like a true retreat experience. It was so natural and the infinity pool was incredible. The sunsets from the pool/beach were beautiful every night. The staff offered exceptional service, in fact the best I have ever experienced. There were also loads of games on offer (scrabble, cards. Chess etc) and the food was also delicious. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. Nothing was too much to ask for!
Thank you to all the team at Majestic for making our stay so welcoming and memorable :)
Fantastic location. Beautiful clean beach with lovely views. The food was of a very high standard. The buffet changed every night & we thought good value for 13 euros. The dolphin watching trip was unbelievable. That is a must do trip. As per usual in Sri Lanka the staff were wonderful. So friendly & smiling all of the time. The Eco huts were very comfortable but not sound proofed. We got used to the braying donkeys early in the morning. Did not not bother us at all.
Our getaway at Kalpitiya Chalets by Thilanka was incredibly peaceful and beautiful. The chalets are nestled in a calm area by Puttalam lagoon, offering breathtaking views. The private balcony, with its magical touch, made our time there perfect for peaceful moments with my wife.
What sets Kalpitiya Chalets apart is not just the stunning location but also the delicious food and amazing staff, making it a truly memorable place for a relaxed retreat in Kalpitiya.
Sabina and Avi are very sweet persons and make you feel home (they will also help you to organise any activities - thanks for the list of hotels and hostels in Colombo )! Kalpitiya and the bungalows on the sand made me chill down even more (is it possible when travelling in Sri Lanka ? the country with 0 stress 😀). The food is delicious and fresh.
In short I'd love to come again to spend a lazy week with a few dives.
This is the place to stay if you are visiting kalpitiya. The room is simple but has all the needed materials to have a good night sleep. Highlight of the property is the owner Meryl, his wife and kids. Meryl arranged us bicycles to ride around for 1000 LKR and helped us getting a tuktuk in the morning to the bus station (which was cheaper than taking it by ourselves when we first got there). Overall great experience.
The Sri Lankan breakfasts were great. Every effort made to produce a western breakfast as well but bear in mind it’s a Muslim area. The location is adjacent to an undeveloped beach fringed with palms with areas of working fishermen. It’s genuine with locals using the beach and no facilities. It’s a kite surfing area with assorted instructing establishments nearby. The hotel staff are brilliant and can’t do enough.

This hotel made me to feel staying in Sri Lanka forever. Bio environment was so exceptional and natural, bungalows made me feel so tropical and part of the nature. Rooms are clean and quite good in size. Team? ahhh what can i say? they are so special, so lovely and friendly. I would love to go there as they became out friends ❤️ food is typical Sri Lankan and so delicious
I absolutely loved the beautiful beachfront location, with a relaxed vibe and stunning views of the lagoon from the bar deck. The accommodations were comfortable, with a cozy bed and cool AC. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay enjoyable.
Kalpitiya is amazing, quiet, authentic. It s not very touristic yet. The neighbourhood is so cool you really feel like leaving in Sri Lanka and not in tourist village. The outside of the hotel are great. Kids loved to live on the beach.
The local Breakfast was very good .
Specially they prepared what we like ( Continental or Local )
Beach walk , Sea Bath & everyday we brought the fresh fish from fisherman in the village ,
& Chief was prepared its tasty ,
