It was a stopover stay during our roadtrip- and we are glad we chose Thon- it's comfortable, and centrally located with an exceptional breakfast spread! The staff is warm and friendly.
There are parking spots nearby (paid) so that is not a problem too.

A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport.
And once you do... it can be magic.

The city itself is not necessarily special or historic (though some bits are) but the area around the city has some great scenic walks and of course the outlook across the sea/bay is stunning at any time of year, but particularly in the blue hour of the winter days. Lots of buses run regularly to outlying areas and there are fast buses to the airport to connect with flight check-in times. Take a walk along Stien langs sjøen (path along the shore) to the Trondenes Historical Museum (great wee cafe there) and the Adolf cannon from WW2.

A transfer to the AirPort would be nice.
A transfer to the AirPort would be nice. Its one kilometer dangerous road and much heavy traffic. Taxi cost: 350 :- for drivning 3 minutes.
We booked to be near the airport so it was a disapointment.

Relatively old north Norway town being currently modernized.
Relatively old north Norway town being currently modernized. Cozy old city, modern waterfront and good choice of restaurants.
If hunting for northern lights, with good forecast and no clouds in the sky, you just walk up to the sport part above the town (high-jump area and cross-country tracks) and you can enjoy it directly from there.

Harstad has friendly locals, nice activities for both young and old, a great folk park for outdoor activities, a family pool Grottebadet, a great cultural centre "Kulturhuset" where concerts regularly are played, an art gallery where exhibitions and events happen, a fine bakery, and a fine little shop for womens clothing and colorful purses, and Trondarnes church... Come and stay a while on your way along the coast. :) You will not regret it!
the location is nice .the hotel is original. the night buffet is good enough as it'was included . they'have a funny wooden sauna for rent . i saw a outside wooden jakuzzi . the sea water is so clear , incredible but i not'try to swimm .

breakfast small but enough .

Cute accommodation in renovated historic buildings on a little peninsula not far from Harstad/Narvik airport. The buffet dinner was tasty and a good value. We also enjoyed booking the sauna. Beautiful location right on the water and convenient to the airport (30 minutes).
The location was central to downtown. We walked about 5 minutes to get to restaurants, etc. The room was quite large & comfortable. There was free parking on-site. The bathroom had shampoo & shower gel which was not common during our 13 day stay in Norway.
The hotel is great if you arrive late at Evenes airport (we walked there and it took us about 15 min). The beds are comfortable, everything's clean and the breakfast was very rich in terms of what they offered. Also, fantastic self check-in.
The view of the Harstad port and the surrounding areas is stunning. The apartment is clean, spacious and has a separate living room. Parking is in front of the house.
Check-in and check-out is automated and very simple.
We booked a family room for 4 people and it was very spacious. There was a small fridge and microwave.
This hotel does not have reception, but it's nice.
There is an Italian restaurant connected to the hotel.
Breakfast = best hotel breakfast I've ever had, and it was FREE!
Staff = friendly, helpful, awesome (Sonje was amazing)
Location = STELLAR. Right across from the ocean and near a bunch of cool stuff
Nice clean hotel. Perfect location for my needs. Breakfast had a huge choice and very tasty. Room was large and bathroom clean and tidy. Staff helpful at check-in and check out.
Beautiful trading post turned hotel. Lots of charm and character throughout. Location on the water is superb just be aware it's about a 30 minute drive from anything else.
the shower was excellent and i was happy to have a fridge and a kettle in my room. the busterminal is next to the hotel which made location really good for me.
