Just 5 minutes drive from Auckland Airport, this hotel has free on-site parking for all our guests flying in or out of Auckland.

The staff were amazing. I had made an error with my original booking (my fault) and the staff did everything they could to cater for my error and went out of their way to find me a room. Really excellent staff.

FAQs about hotels in Auckland

Thrilling City of Sails and Volcanoes

Called the 'City of Sails' due to the large number of yachts anchored in Waitemata Harbour, Auckland is the largest city of both New Zealand and Polynesia. Built on the Auckland Volcanic Field featuring about 48 extinct volcanoes, this city truly offers a blast!

Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.

Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!

Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Getting to the city centre is an easy trip from Auckland International Airport. Find modern hotels, comfortable motels and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect accommodation for your holiday.

Travel from airport is awful. It has never been brilliant but is certainly much worse. Taxi drivers were just not interested in taking us to Pakuranga. This is 3rd world level. Down town Auckland is slowly getting back on its feet. It should develop it uniqueness.

Make the effort and walk down to the Viaduct area..this place is pumping...loads of choices for food and drink..you can sit and people watch, admire the beautiful yachts, enjoy the friendly atmosphere...awesome buzzy vibe. If you don't feel like walking back to your hotel? there are plenty of taxis around....another tip, if you aren't going far, ask the taxi driver to take you back to your hotel for XXXX (whatever you feel like offering)..most of them will probably happily oblige to have some fare is better than no fare! There are so many road works in Auckland that paying full fare by taxis can be expensive, always try and barter the price before you get in.

Absolutely beautiful city, terrain, food selection and BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. Downtown Auckland may be hard to travel for persons with mobility issues due to steep and hilly terrain. You can still see a lot of the land marks, have a car service drop u off directly in front. If you want to see the majesty of the land, get out of the city and canvas the surrounding countrysides or hop on the ferry. I’ll be back to connect how city busses and other transportation/ferry can connect you to other places. Definitely bringing my family back. Something for everyone. Definitely want to see Rotorua and different foods. I loved everything about this place and as a solo traveler, I felt safe.

I'm not normally much of a city guy, but Aukland was a really great place to explore. It had that feel of a city that didn't know it's a city. Not a huge amount of chains and a lot more smaller businesses. Having said that if you want some serious shopping there were plenty of the bigger boutiques too. The touristy stuff was actually really good and not too expensive, things like the Skytower and the ferries to the other islands.

Great place to stay if arriving late at night - we were also offered a later check-out (at 11 AM instead of 10 AM). We walked from the international flights terminal with our luggage on an airport trolley - easy! Very friendly staff; can leave luggage for a couple of hours if needed. A kettle and tea and instant coffee in the room - very convenient. The bathroom and shower are spacious - not the cramped usual style at ibis budget hotels. Comfortable beds and decent space in the room.

We stayed there during the wind storm and our flight got delayed for a day. Most of the hotels were either fully booked or changed their pricing to outrageously high. Luckily the front desk staff was super helpful and managed to extend our stay for one more night due to a last minute cancellation by other clients. The room was spacious, clean and well-designed. front desk was 24 hours which was very helpful. it’s about a 10-15 min walk to the city centre with lots of dining options.

comfortable hotel near the airport. the hotel restaurant is pretty good if a bit overpriced, which is good since nothing else is walkable. only frustration was their advance email said to call from the airport for a shuttle. they didn’t pick up and hold disconnected four times. took an Uber. it turns out the shuttle wasn’t free anyway, and was a separate service on a fixed schedule. would have appreciated that being communicated accurately

Excellent location right next to train and bus stations! New, modern apartments and the common areas e.g lift and foyer were cleaned every day. Lovely, big balcony. The staff were great at communicating prior to check in with very helpful instructions which made check in seamless. Be aware the paid car park they recommend is closed during the night so if you have an early start for the airport (like I did at 4am), you’ll be locked in.

The Auckland City Hotel looks really cool inside and it’s interesting to read about its history. The location was exactly what we were looking for to experience and explore downtown Auckland. It’s a stones throw from Sky City, which was perfect. Room service from the restaurant downstairs was also a big plus as we got in late and didn’t want to take the kids out into the city at night.
