The location of the hotel was amazing - right on the beach. The view of the sea and coastline was wonderful and the sound proofing against the wind and waves perfect - we couldn't hear a thing. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were brilliant.

The hotel, an old palacio, was gorgeous, in lovely grounds. The rooms were decorated with frescoes and old furniture matching the style of the palace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast had many great options to chose from (or have it all!). The tasting menu dinner was delicious and an evening drink on the terrace watching the sun go down was beautiful. There is a path opposite the hotel that shortcuts the hill walk up to Pena Palace or Moorish Castle. It is fairly rough but fine for those who are steady on their feet. Not far from Regaleira palace and Sintra town either.
