First class hotel! Amazing interior, design, incredible staff and service! Paintings everywhere (owner is an artist), adorable souvenirs shop(with carefully selected quality items) stylish breakfast room with nutritious and appetizing food with a variety of options to choose from. Cleanliness is uncompromising. But what really captivated us was the breathtaking view from our terrace - Castle of Batalha just in front. We had just one night booked but we chose to extend our stay for an additional night. To summarize: a piece of art!

The hotel facilites was ok. The room that we stayed had a clogged sink in the bathroom and leakage in the room’s sink, the hotel staff could solve only the clogged one. In general the hotel staff was relatively friendly, but not really prepared to solve our requests.

The monastery / cathedral was great.
The monastery / cathedral was great. And there was a great little flea market Sunday morning in the adjacent parking lot focused on antiques. I had dinner in an excellent restaurant across from my hotel, just behind the monastery and was really rather impressed. And of course Super Bock was available everywhere.

All the amenities of a hotel with the basic comforts of home, like a coffee machine and a refrigerator. Great breakfast served in our room every morning, with warm bread and pastries, croissants, freshly boiled eggs, fresh fruit, homemade orange juice, etc. There was also a very nice private varanda with a table and chairs, where one can appreciate the sunset and the Batalha Monastery in the distance. Spacious pool area, perfect for a relaxing day.

They let me leave my bike and luggage in the hotel so I could spend the afternoon sightseeing. The room was spacious and well equipped with a good bathroom. Best of all was the Aircon also heated. For example, we arrived in late afternoon hungry and tired around 4pm. The staff offered to make us a meal. My husband and I ordered one of everything. It was the best meal we have had in Portugal. Lovely small garden in back, guests encouraged to enjoy and feed the animals (shelled corn provided) - chickens, ducks, hamsters, rabbit, goats, sheep, and pony that they let kids ride. Lovey room, friendly staff with excellent restaurant recommendation. Be aware there are two areas to park, the one by the reception only has 3 spaces, but there is a larger one at the base of the hill. There are indoor and outdoor pools, and a kid's play room.

As parents we enjoyed the lush green garden. The children fell in love with the little goat while feeding him milk and riding the horse. This house is just a 30 minute ride from the beach but located in an area for the culture castle lover. Also the caves where really nice to visit. Highly recommended!
