Super nice staff at the reception. We booked at 22:30 after our flight was cancelled and arrived 30 minutes later. Duarte arranged two rooms for us although we booked one. Comfortable bed and linen. Nice balcony with sea view.

We really liked the following: the relaxed atmosphere, the very child-friendly staff, the small playground next to the hotel and the activities offered for children, the spacious family room with separate bedroom and kitchen unit and of course the excellent and varied food - especially the dessert (I have rarely eaten such delicious cakes).

This place was lovely, quiet and with beautiful scenery 😍.
Lovely friendly owners and staff.
Lovely location, with bus stop right outside ( easy to go and come back from Funchal,but if you rather use a taxi , Rita was able to contact one and within minutes they arrive.
Lovely bars/restaurant within walking distance from there.
I would recommend this place.

Canico itself has not much to offer, but it is a quiet, clean neighborhood and a 12 min drive from both Funchal and the Airport, however most of the things to do was either in the heart of the island or at the northern part, so be ready to drive around. Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops...
Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops/bars/restaurants. There are many large hotels in the area but it is possible to keep away from them and the associated mass tourism. There is a great sea front walk from the public car park leading to a great restaurant mainly frequented by the locals and this is about 10-15 mins away from the centre.

Nice apartment, very close to the beach and good proximity to Funchal. There are some small things that were missing like shower gel :(, shampoo, soap, beach towels ... also we had some problems with the entrance door in the building but this was resolved fast with the help of neighbors. If you want to visit Madeira, you definitely need to rent a car. I recommend a small car like a Fiat500 or a Fiat Panda because the roads in the cities and villages can be really (I mean REALLY) narrow.

There are two bathrooms which was big plus and private parking on site. The view over the ocean is impressive. It is true there is a busy by-pass near by. This did not affect our sleep as the house is double glazing. Temperature in Madeira were around 24 degrees. We were out most the time visiting the island so not to fussed about the noise. Guido was very helpful and punctual. Great place to stay at a great price.

For breakfast there are plenty of options to choose, so if you stay not for very long, each time you can eat something different. We enjoyed swimming pool, also the opportunity to go to lido where you can swim in the sea (worth to take snorkeling mask). The name of hotel was confirmed, there were no kids (except lido which is accessible by public for some fee), so you could really relax, read a book.

We enjoyed having a glass of wine there on the warm Madeiran summer evening. The place was spotlessly clean and the bed is very comfortable. We received a very warm welcome from the host and will definitely stay here again next visit. If you stay here, make sure to spend a night at La Teraça restaurant. It's a fifteen minute walk from the apartment and absolutely lovely.
