We stayed at the Penha de Franca Mar, the room and bathroom were a reasonable size which were thoroughly cleaned each day. Being on the ground floor were had a lovely secluded terrace with views of the pool and sea. Breakfast was very good serving both hot and cold options. The hotel's location was perfect, seafront with direct access off the pier into the sea, at the bottom of a hill so a "flat" ten minute walk into Funchal.

Super nice staff at the reception. We booked at 22:30 after our flight was cancelled and arrived 30 minutes later. Duarte arranged two rooms for us although we booked one. Comfortable bed and linen. Nice balcony with sea view.
