A Gem of a hotel in a beautiful traditional Portuguese square. Plenty of places to eat and drink in walking distance. Breakfast was just what we like. Delicious, fresh and tasty. Super friendly staff. Thank you all.

This was an amazing short stop (maybe too short), but we loved every minute. The location is just glorious, tranquil with amazing sun rise and sunsets to the other side. The pool area a total gem. All the gardens are natural, well manicured - in keeping with nature and the environment around it. Regarding dining, we had planned to go and discover the local town, but found it difficult to leave so we stayed in the beautiful restaurant, and watched the boats coming in and out. we had the prawns in chilli, lime and ginger to as a starter and Fish stew which were both to die for. Breakfast was great too. All in all this discrete development is immaculately maintained and a true find - OH and last but not least, uber friendly and helpful staff. We will be back for sure.

Great town with many small shops.
Great town with many small shops. Ideal place for purchasing towels and bed linens as you are spoilt for choice. We visited in December and the lights were fabulous, also the miniature Christmas Village cannot be missed and as an added bonus you can take the ferry over to Spain from here.

The newly paved pedestrian thoroughfare was a real bonus.
The newly paved pedestrian thoroughfare was a real bonus. Attractive and very safe to walk. There are a good mix of restaurants. We were there in December and the Christmas market in the square, although not very big, was an added attraction. Vila Real de Santo António is very good for shopping. There is also a marina.

Beautiful waterfront and marina, ideal for strolling.
Beautiful waterfront and marina, ideal for strolling. Lovely traditional architecture. Good main shopping street. Lots of good restaurants to suit a range of tastes and budgets. Perfectly maintained and clean streets and squares. Perhaps a generally more grown-up destination.

Wonderful hotel, great location.
Wonderful hotel, great location. The food market was just across the hotel, a supermarket too. Very near the city centre, lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The breakfast was so good, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh fruit and delicatessen, lovely coffee. The personnel staff very friendly, bottle of water and a welcome letter was a nice gesture upon arrival.

I like most the weather, the beachs, very beautiful city, But public transport is very poor, waiting hours for a bus or train and they stop working very early.restaurants very expensive, and portuguese food lost quality. No activities for solo travellers, just going to the beachs or shopping in streets. My favourite place was Guadiana beach, the water very clear, and warm, and a very quiet place to relaxing. In Vila real de santo antonio it is very easy to get around, and from there you can easily go to Spain, Ayamonte only 15 minutes from boat.

AMAZING place!
AMAZING place! the level of service is on another level and the property itself is all you could ask for from a Boutique hotel
Would highly recommend dining at the hotel as they have a daily changing menu serving everything that is in season
The beach club also has an awesome vibe and the team there will look after anything that you need and then some
Already thinking about when we'll be able to go back

Luis (the host) is very friendly, helpful, and responsive.
The location is right in the centre of Vila Real de Santo Antonio. It's easy to get to the shops, cafes, supermarkets, and the tourist train to the beach.
The property is divided into two studio rooms: one downstairs, and one upstairs. That would be great for two semi-independent couples.
The rooftop area is lovely for sitting outside in the evening.
The kitchen had almost everything we needed or wanted.
We very much enjoyed our stay in VRSA.
A well-appointed property in a central but nonetheless quiet location; the Host is helpful and friendly, and the apartment has most facilities except for a washing machine
There is a large supermarket within 5 minutes walk, the centre of Vila Real de Santo Antonio is less than 10 minutes away, and the railways station around 20 minutes on foot. The beach is a little bit of a trek, but the area is largely flat and everywhere is easily accessible.
Great location facing the river and the moorings. Splendid interior design reminiscent the old times of the legendary Guadiana Hotel. The staff was very professional and helpful from the first day -not only bedsheet and towels, also bathrobes changed daily. Quality breakfast and dinner, including night cocktails prepared by superb bartender. A fine way to enjoy the other Algarve far from the beaten track.
This was a super comfortable house that was perfectly set up for our stay…well located, well equipped, and great facilities (bed, furniture, etc. The host/owner was kind enough to pick us up from the train station. And left much information about Vila Real de Santo Antonio which made exploring so easy.
Everything!
It was fabulous… we had our dog Margarita with us and they couldn’t be more caring and accommodating.
We will always stay in the Pousada de Vila Real de Santo António, when we are in that area.
Thank you to all the excellent staff and the marvelous pizza maker!
Obrigado ☺️
Great breakfast, wonderful location. Pool was small but peaceful and clean, lots of sunbeds. Spacious rooms and nice bathroom. Hotel was very clean and wonderful staff. Touristic train outside the hotel takes you to the beach for only 1.20€ per person each way.
We loved the house and the area in Vila Real de Santo Antonio. The house is bright , clean and very well equipped. The location could not be better. Good communication with the host made everything run smoothly. We are longing to return!
We loved absolutely everything about this place. Owen was a superb host and his hotel is impossible to beat on value and service. Exceptionally clean and immaculately presented. Great location and brilliant facilities..
Location, location, location.
Also Renalto at the reception made us feel very welcome and recommended a choice of 2 great restaurants, one of which, La Cuca made the best fish we had tasted the whole week in Portugal.
the hotel is in perfect location near the forest and a short walk to the ocean. The hosts are super friendly. Even got a boxing session from the host. VEry welcoming. everything is super clean.
The house was really nice - I think it suits a big family of 5 (possibly 6 because of an extra bed). The location was nice as it was close to the centre of Vila Real de Santo António.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff is amazing. The beach club is very relaxing. The amenities are great. There has been a lot of thought put into the details of the hotel.
Great central location on quiet street. Older, charming hotel. Decent enough just very cramped bedroom and bathroom. Lots of narrow stairs to upstairs rooms.
Super location, very international and happy guests. Room has a bidet. I am staying now in 500 euros a night hotel in Lisbon that does not have a bidet!
