Charming traditional decorations all around the house, very clean rooms (I loved how the linen and towels smell, fresh and soft). The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The location is very convenient, on our way to the Via Transilvanica trail. We had our bicycles with us, but the property has a few bicycles you can use for free. Also a big plus was the restaurant, considering the village is small and doesn’t have many options for having a meal. The breakfast is included in the room rate (a nice surprise for us) and includes a wide range of good quality products incl. local food. Large yard with amazing views where you can relax, while sitting on the terrace or playing table tennis.
Offering inner courtyard views, Casa de Vacanta FAMILY & FRIENDS is an accommodation located in Criţ, 12 km from Saschiz Fortified Church and 13 km from Viscri Fortified Church.

The lodging, the environment and the fresh breakfast w bread baked in the ovens in the yard. I did not have a TV in the room but I was not looking for one. The bathroom was very comfortable and clean.
Chatted with the owner when they returned from work around 8 pm. They bake the bread at night, early on the morning she takes it for sale in Sighisoara. One should understand that this is not a hotel and only renting rooms would not make ends meet. So if you expect full service it would be disappointing. I arrived , checked in, visited the church and had dinner at a restaurant in the village. The rooms were built where the stables used to be and one can see the thick wall beams and stone walls in the lunch room.
Breakfast was hearty, had 4 local cheeses. The owners husband makes a fabulous home made sausage. They also make the preserves. And one of the best breads I have had.
Situated in Viscri, 400 metres from Viscri Fortified Church, Viscri 125 features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel offers free WiFi.

We decided to go on a spontaneous trip to explore a new part of the country, and it turned out to be an amazing choice for us. The experience was fantastic, with breathtaking scenery of fields and hills visible from the beautiful garden. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, and we truly enjoyed the openness and warmth of the location. The wine and beverage fridges were a cool and thoughtful touch that we appreciated.
We are already planning our return and intend to stay for a longer duration next time! 🌄🍷

Crit is a former Saxon village with beautiful old houses, friendly working people, a fortified church with sheep grazing on the grounds, an Orthodox church, a meandering brook with multiple homemade bridges, a small store and another that seemed to be a restaurant or local bar. There are abundant wildflowers and orchards. Very beautiful, authentic, village where you occasionally see horse-drawn wagons.

Owner made considerable and laudable conservation efforts.
Owner made considerable and laudable conservation efforts. Rooms have painted furniture and original items (e.g., dowry chests). Dinner tables are made from old oak beams. There is mostly good taste in renovation and extension choices. The place does not seem children friendly. Yet we had an infant with us and felt very welcome. Host is genuinely affable and amenable (to a point). I wonder why she draws the line where she does, but that is her prerogative. Some guests may find that absurd and/or unacceptable. Breakfast is included and otherwise generous. Upon request, she cooked for us. It was one of the best meals we had in the area! Yes, I am generally impressed both with the property and services. A truly worthwhile Saxonian experience!

Crit is a pretty nice village to visit.
Crit is a pretty nice village to visit. The village is an UNESCO site, and they need to preserve the facades of the buildings just as they were originally, so that's nice to see, because it sort of feels like a trip back in time.
If you're looking for a really authentic experience, you should definitely visit it, along with the near by villages as well, like Viscri, Mesendorf, Cloasterf or Saschiz, all really nice, all really well preserved old villages.

Nice and quiet village.
Nice and quiet village. Good location to start exploring the area. Highly recommended for trekkers and cycling lovers and people who enjoy country side life.
While the atmosphere is pretty nice a bit more attention of the city hall to the village cleaning will be good.
Everybody talk about the impressive cycling path in the area, however you do not feel the impression that the locals are happy or even to promote them.
I had the meals on Casa Kraus. Overall good food and good service.

We found Crit (and Viscri) a little overpriced for what they offered and we think that more attention should be given by local authorities to making them really tourist-worthy. We had our kid’s plane stolen from the top of our car (where we forgot it)..
