There is not much if anything here but that is what you come here for. It's an old motel, with an amazing story, that could use a bit of TLC but the rooms are clean, the air conditioning works, and the water was hot in the shower. A great place to stay and show the photos to your friends.

A tiny historic town looking much the way it did 100 years ago. A tour of Marta Becket's murals in the Opera House is highly recommended; we can only hope that performances once again take place in this unique hall. The restaurant currently sits empty, so bring anything you want to eat with you. There is a refrigerator in the common area you can use to store some food.
The surrounding Armargosa Desert stretches out east, north, and south of the village as far as the eye can see. Amazingly, there is an aquifer deep underground fed by the Armargosa River (also underground at this point). So there are some ranches and tiny Nevada casino towns nearby (but not too nearby).
For more info about the Armargosa, visit the Armargosa Conservancy's website at armargosaconservancy dot org.

The information and warning to refuel before entering the National Park are true. The price of fuel in NP is really higher.
Stock up on plenty of water, the temperature is really high. Exertion in the heat will make up for the beauty that appears to be dead, but it is not.

It's close to the East entrance to Death Valley, which makes it a less expensive alternative to resort accommodations in the valley. It's also close to gas and food, which is just 7 miles away to the North, in Nevada (Nevada prices). Again, providing less expensive alternative to gas, and food in the valley.

I’ve struggled to answer the questions. The answers to some were neither yes nor no, but “sort-of.” Overall, the charms may have outweighed the negatives, but there were negatives you’d have to be willing to overlook. questions

This is a historical hotel, there's even a famous documentary about it. From outside it can look like the place it's not taken care of, but I guess that it is for maintaining the original building untouched because of its historical relevance. The inside is old but well taken care of, everything is clean and the beds were comfortable. Free coffee in the morning. Conveniently close to the Death Valley National Park.
quaintness and quirkiness of the whole establishment, its historic character, the old photos and murals (even though they were peeling!), the ability to have tea constantly and coffee in the morning, and to make your own meals (breakfast and dinner) using the microwave, toaster and frig in the room by the old dining room. This should be made better known in the advertising of the hotel.
The hotel is a historical building which is conveniently located at the death valley junction, so it's an excellent place to spend the night if you're traveling in the area. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, and the hotel has shared kitchen facilities such as a microwave, a fridge, ice, cold and boiling water. You can also take a tour around the place for 10$.
The manager Michaela was great. Her customer service was superb, she made sure we had everything we needed. Answered all our questions. After we checked out we realized we left our cellphone & seen Michaela at lunch, told her & she immediately left & met us back at the hotel to give us our phone. Very trustworthy staff.
I loved everything of this amazing historical hotel. I’m so glad I chose it! Room was large, bed and pillows very comfortable, bathroom had everything I needed. The communal living room with fireplace was my favourite place. I loved the colonnade outside. I just loved everything!
This place is amazing! Old hotel in a ghost town just a few males from the east death Valley NP entrance. Staff is super nice and everything clean. Budget option to be seriously considered when visiting the death valley.
It is in a fantastic location and the hotel is characterful and unique. It was a great one night stop before we visited Death Valley and beyond and make sure you get a tour of the Opera House. You will not regret it.
Great history of the hotel, and story of the ballerina who revived the attached theatre in the late 1960’s.
The staff can give tours of the “opera house” for guests for $10/person, highly recommended!
The staff was friendly and helpful, they hotel and the location are beautiful and full of character. Loved that there were no TVs or phone in the rooms and the Wifi worked fine.
