Caramanico is a gorgeous small village deep in the heart of the Majella mountains, starting point for several fantastic hiking trails. A friendly and helpful staff runs this lovely hotel very close to both the spa and the Visitor centre. We had a large comfortable room with a balcony and delicious breakfast and dinner.

The Albergo Del Sole was so empty due to the weather that Angelo and Illiana, the proprietors, moved me to a sister full service hotel in Sulmona called Holiday. They were accommodating and gracious. Offered free wine and a meal for my troubles.

We've gone to this hotel on many occasions as UK people touring Italy and it never fails us. It's not in the central area of Sulmona so could be a problem without a car, and you won't exactly get a room with a view, but otherwise, absolutely great. Two lovely swimming pools, nice air-conditioned rooms, and very helpful staff. Parking is easy and with the beautiful medieval city of Sulmona is just a five minute drive away, it's a very easy choice for us.

The owners were welcoming and made us feel like family. The evening meal was wonderful. If you want to experience the 'real Italy' a stay at Borgo San Martino is highly recommended!!! I only write reviews for exceptional places. This hotel exceeded every hope and expectation. The food was the better than the Michelin star restaurants we dined at this trip. The view over the valley was especially nice from the swing on the balcony. The owners were friendly and helpful for every request.
