Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandBeing locked in at night as the front doors were locked so we were unable to get out. This seems unsafe. The coffee which was 2 euro, came with no milk and half a cup of liquid.
The young man at reception was very polite and friendly. Bathroom was lovely.

United StatesWe did not feel safe walking outside the hotel at night even during the early evening hours
The hotel was clean and modern. We did not like the fact that they provide limited toilet paper. We had to ask for more toilet paper twice. The rolls are very small. The hotel is ok, but the surrounding are is a little shocking. There are a lot of men Just hanging out trying to sell you just about everything, Very dirty surroundings, but it's not the hotel fault it's the neighborhood.

Clean, modern. Definitely one of the better hotels I've stayed in in Paris.

NigeriaRoom small. Furniture basic. No air-conditioner. Just a remote controlled ceiling fan. Heater though. Just few channels on Television. Breakfast was also basic... Just Confectionery..... Croissants and Tea/ Coffee. Could be improved upon surely. Then again, guess one can't possibly expect much from a 7 Euros breakfast. Given the convenience of the location, I guess one can overlook some of these and have a lovely time in Paris here like we did.
The location is absolutely fantastic for exploring Paris. Walking distance...about 12-14 mins to The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre. Not far from L'ouvre Museum, Arc de Triomph and Eiffel Tower also. Diagonally across from a Rail Station and Gare du Nord walkable distance...few minutes walk, too. McDonald's in same block, with KFC, Popeyes Chicken and other entries nearby. Shops to booth too. Bathroom was good but small. Delivered water at good pressure and warmth at needed temperature though. Lovely location to see Paris all in all.

DenmarkRoom was small and clean. The hotel wasn't located in the best of areas, but this information was available pre-booking, so it was no surprice. The optional breaktfast was simple, but nice. Staff was overall very helpful and friendly.

New ZealandAs it said in the reviews we saw before booking, the neighbourhood is a bit rough but it was no worries for us
It had everything you needed, was close to Metro, Sacré-Cœur, Moulin Rouge and other great locations. Staff were friendly, room was very clean and was serviced everyday.

RomaniaThe triple room was quite small and the beds were crammed together (it looked like another bed was added to a room of 2). The room floor was a bit sticky in an area - so probably not the cleanest.
The staff was really nice and helpful. They gave us valuable advice related to all of our inquiries and helped with our situation. The room was nice and the bathroom clean and equipped with the necessities. Although the neighborhood was a bit sketchy, the location was good - really close to the Metro station and walking distance to Montmartre. Not bad things but just to be aware: - the room (at least our triple room) doesn't have a hairdryer - you can lend one from the reception - they are really nice about it. - we only received one big towel each - not sure if this is the hotel policy, but just take it into consideration if your group needs more.

United KingdomIt was at a pretty sketchy area. There’s a cluster of men who look like illegal drug or cigarettes dealer around the station and it feels pretty unsafe for girls to walk around there.
It’s small but it’s clean and quiet.

GermanyWell, it's not about the hotel but the neighborhood. It's not the best if you are alone; a lot of people offer you illegal stuff and are really invasive, but if you have company for the trip, that works fine.
The staff is friendly and always smiling. They offer good value for money, breakfast is straightforward but worth it if you need to leave early and eat fast. The hotel in general is really simple but works really well, everything was clean.

United KingdomThe location is what lets this down and I feel really bad bringing it up as the staff and hotel were so good! But especially when we came back late in the evening we felt uncomfortable and worried about safety due to large crowds of men hanging around and shouting etc. There were a lot of sirens overnight too
Lovely little hotel, great value for money. Our triple room was lovely, we didn’t stay in the hotel long, it was literally to sleep and go off again so it was perfect for us. A comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom and it was just right for what we wanted The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very at ease, which was very good as it was our first time abroad, and they were great with our little girl, teaching her new words! Housekeeping were brilliant, fresh towels and toilet roll daily and beds cleaned and made up, and they ever lovingly placed our daughters teddies for her so she was always excited to go back and see that! Great location for the station, was a 5 minute walk to Gard du Nord if that which was brilliant

United Kingdomlocation is a bit of a issue, close to a station which is a + in some ways but was a lot of 'activity' in the area, sirens going off day and lots at night, high police presence in the area and lots of men outside station in groups often arguing or fighting when not trying to sell you things, walk out hotel one way and it is lovely in 5 mins, walk the other felt unsafe and dirty for want of a better word. Keys have to be left in the hotel when you go out ( found this odd) also the room safe was locked when we arrived and even though we asked twice for it to be opened when it finally was it was locked while open so we could not use it anyway, resulted to taking our passports etc out with us, some staff at reception were friendly and helpful, some seemed like we were disturbing them when leaving keys etc, they were fine with us leaving cases before and after our stay while waiting to check in and after checking out though
the room and the hotel was clean enough, we did not have breakfast in the hotel so cannot comment it, room was a decent size and was a 10 min walk to Montmarte and Sacre coeur, cleaning staff did decent job and a low price room in a expensive city to stay
