Poor breakfast (buffet food was quite stale/dry by the time we got there at 9am). Having to pay for parking- would’ve thought they would have included in fee for room. No hairdryer in room.

Lovely facilities- great pool, social spaces and all very clean. Good location for travelling and very quiet considering. Overall would stay again.

The service was not so good or welcoming. I was tired from travel and had to carry my own two heavy bags from the car to our room without help, made worse that there was no elevator.

Beautiful room with everything you need and more. Very clean and comfortable.

The bar was closed for refurbishment. They did have some drinks available but unfortunately but these were limited if non existent one evening. Should not have to pay for parking if you are resident in hotel.

Location good. Breakfast suitable for everyone’s preferences. Did not use leisure facilities but was good to have that option. Staff friendly and helpful.The duty manager was very receptive to your views and feedback Lounge area lovely location for relaxing.

The food was a bit of a let down. I ordered a burger and it was not as listed on the menu when it was served. No tomato listed but had 2 slices on and pulled pork listed but was very minimal amount on the burger.

The room was a great size and also the Spa facilities were a good addition to my stay.

The pool closure time was not advertised on the website. We understood it was new years however it would have been helpful to plan an earlier arrival time.

Staff were really friendly and made sure guests were well catered for and enjoyed the new year celebrations. The head chef also gave us some complementary deserts left over from a function so that they don't go to waste. They were absolutely delightful!!

The weather was very cold during our stay and the hotel heating was not really up to the job. The communal areas of the hotel were extremely cold. The management need to arrange for some sort of space heater to be hired for the colder months. Our room was very cold when we arrived, but we turned the heating on and went into the town. The room was much warmer on our return a few hours later, but it took till morning for it to become comfortable. The bar was not well stocked and had a very limited selection for a hotel bar. It was to cold to spend any time at the bar anyway, so hopefully this will not still an issue during warmer months and a descent selection of beverages will be on offer commensurate with an hotel of this standing.

Generally a very nice hotel. Very good, friendly and efficient staff. All the staff we met were polite, cheerful and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Our room was a little dated, but well appointed and served its purpose well. All the food we had in the restaurant really was excellent, with a superb selection to chose from. The hotel was near to where we planed to meet family in Newbury so was convenient for our stay.

In the room: 3 out of the 4 lights didn't work. But 2 minutes later the handyman had them all working - very quick service.

Very basic. We're thre during colld snap and the bar and reception were freezing.

Pool and hot tub were very warm Gym OK AC IN ROOM INDEPENDENT SO COULD BE SET TO OUR CHOSEN TEMP.

Duvet and heating system inadequate for winter

Breakfast was under average, had breakfast at 9am no bread left. Rooms weren't very clean, dusty in place youd expect to be cleaned, broken lights, no phone in room to contact reception or room service. Had to go to reception to order room service, had the pizza. Wasn't good at all.

The pool facilities were good , although we got asked to leave 730pm. Wheb reception and booking.com says 8pm
