Only thing I thought that could have been improved was the the greeting at reception, a smile and a happy good morning would have improved the initial arrival. Although they probably were they did not give the instant impression of they were pleased to see us and pleased we had booked our stay with the hotel. I know it was only a one night stay but the greeting should have been more welcoming and enthusiastic.

Location was great to the City and the shops, pool was good even if a little bit short but good to have short swim. Room was clean and wash facilities were good

The parking charges. We paid a lot for the room, so £15 per day to park, which doesn't guarantee you a place to return to should you want to leave the hotel to explore, feels unfair. The room was cold on entry, as surprise surprise, the heating controls didn't work. Apparently the engineer was due to call after the weekend! Yeah right! So many hotels spin the same line these days, but you are provided with an electric heater instead! The bathroom had no heated towel rail and was freezing.

We did have a small issue with our room, but the two staff members on reception in the early hours were absolutely amazing at sorting this problem out. We were so grateful to them. The hotel itself was lovely and the noise levels were low.

The air-conditioning didn't work and the room was quite hot in the evneing. Also one of the windows was full height and our small dog could have fallen out of it (there was a sign by the TV but it was illegible...).

Hotel was centrally located and the family room that i booked was a good size!

Mattress wasn't that comfy. The bedside lights didn't work independently - pretty fundamental if one person likes to read whilst the other is trying to sleep - it was either all the lights on or off.

Location of the hotel. The rooms were all very spacious. Nice, easy to use shower. Although we didn't use them, the offer of the Spa facilities was nice.

The furniture in the bedroom was rather tired and somewhat battered. The soft chairs that we used throughout were tatty, uncomfortable and needed replacing Breakfast was very average, the hot food looked awful and tasted very bland.

The location was very good for visiting central Exeter, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Modern, well fitted bathroom, comfortable bed.

The breakfast was OK. You had to order fried eggs and mushrooms whereas other cooked items were out on hotplates. This might mean a bit of a wait when the dining room is busy.

Very central location. The room was comfortable and the bathroom looked as though it had been recently refurbished. We ate in the dining room one evening and the food was well cooked and presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Food was great but staff seemed very busy and perhaps short staffed. Shame the jacuzzi wasn’t open on the day we wanted it to be. Left us only with the pool and sauna. More loungers in the spa area might be nice to relax.

Had to swap rooms as on entering first room allocated it smelt of stale alcohol and tobacco. Small blood smear on curtain, generally quite grubby. Second room nicer although carpet could do with a good clean as could walls and the inside of the bathroom door but it was much more acceptable.

Breakfast excellent, good selection , constantly replenishing cooked items. Lounge and bar area was very nice, clean and staff very helpful and friendly. One member of staff's first day and he went out of the way to be helpful. Swimming pool and surrounding area very clean with friendly staff.
