“Private small onsen as part of the room. Extremely friendly hotel staff. Great dinner and breakfast in Izakaya style. Convenient store just around the corner. Free drinks.”
“It was a short walk from the main station and very close to the bus stop. The room was spacious with a separate sleeping area.
There were 2 sets of baths that would rotate between men and women. One was in a room that was open to the outside. The water in the onsen came from a 'special' spring. It was nice and hot.
We ate in a separate area separating by screens to you could kind of talk to your neighbours. The food was very good (mostly) with a lot of small dishes.
They had coffee with breakfast (small cups).”
“The room had an onsen on the balcony, looking towards the mountain which was wonderful.
The room was nice, large TV screen and the toilet was 'automatic'.
We had our meals in a private room with our friends and there were many courses including fresh sashimi. The food was great and quite traditional unless you requested the western breakfast.
The whole place was very quiet.
Happy hour had reasonably priced drinks in a bar that is also an aquarium.
One of the Hakone bus stops was right outside the ryokan. b”
“The ambiance was nice. Lot's of nature to surround yourself with. The garden was nice to see too. Water and coffee in the lobby are good additions. Breakfast was simple, yet delicious. Great place to stay. Would stay again.”
“The views from the room and from the restaurant are incredible. It was one of our favourite stays, the room was comfortable, modern and very clean. We arrived by car and the location made touring around Hakone really easy.
The onsen was beautiful, especially the outdoor section, where we could enjoy the warm water with the cool winter air and the sounds of the lake in the background. They offer yukatas in a variety of sizes and colours and you can always go down and take a different size or colour if you are staying multiple days, which really added to the fun for us.
The breakfast was good, and had some good non-Japanese options as well. And the snacks in the lobby were great gifts to take home with us.”
